I was advised by my GP to give my baby juice when she was constipated. I gave her some, a couple of hours later she was no longer constipated!!

But I assume that is like a one off type thing, not a "here we go lets include this as a regular drink" type thing? :D

Absolutely, if giving your baby juice produces nappies like that one she's never having juice again!! :rotfl:

I agree that juice will get babys bottoms going! Poonami or what.

Only bm/formula and water as drinks till one i think. Although i do share my smoothies with my lo as a snack - he loves them!

From 4 months I'd use packet baby rice or something similar, nothing too sweet as some babies then only want the really sweet stuff..Just offer a couple of mouthfuls at breakfast lunch and dinner..this will cost £3 per week..

At 6 months baby can eat almost anything..

She can have weetabix with her milk for b/fast or our porridge..
Big tins of rice pudding are 13p, buy a hand blender for £4.99 and she can have mash with gravy, veg and fruits can all be blended..Tinned spaghetti and beans mashed..
She can have our juice weakened with cooled boiled water..

Forget buying stuff for £50 its not needed..trust me i'm on my 5th baby who is now 4 months and i'm weaning her too..

Not normal gravy I assume? I still remember this story from when my first child was little:

I never get why people give their baby's juice!? Water! Milk. What's with the juice.

    It clearly states weakened juice..

Oh gosh, yes I remember that from when DS1 was little. And, yes, I was so busy laughing that the thought that the list of things weren't sweet that I didn't consider anything else - weetabix and tinned spaghetti and baked beans are all salt laden as well.

The mess can be quite impressive lol

It's easily cleaned up if you have a hard floor though. If your floors are carpeted then I'd recommend getting something to put down at meal times!

Or get a dog! They soon learn if they lay under the highchair, they get fed :D

Great thinking, when my little one is in her highchair, I'll get my 3 boys on patrol, the food won't even have time to hit the floor with my pup - he's a dog dustbin!! :rotfl:

TBH 3 months doesn't make that much difference

Recommended maximum daily salt intakes for infants, children & adults2

    7-12 mths 1
