think they were made by h&r johnsons tiles of stoke. the must have made billions of em! in the 70,s.
they came in various colors. and i seem to remember the model name was summat like vein? ie pink vein, green vein, blue vein, etc...

During the 1970's the tile market in the UK developed into home improvement and DIY. H & R Johnson-Richard Tiles Ltd., (now H & R Johnsons Tiles Ltd.) which with its overseas companies on five continents, established itself as UK market leader and one of the largest manufacturers of ceramic tiles in the world. It was a boom period for the industry, with H & R Johnson products leading the way and accounting for as much as 65% of all sales. Use of ceramic tiles in Britain has significantly increased from 12 million square metres in 1970 to 56 million square metres in 2003.

Ok, orm, that coloured suite was bad. But it still looked MILES better than the bright ornage one we had at the last house. and our tiles were large mirrors. EEK!!!!!!!

And yes, avocado CAN look nice. I saw one one. Very high quality bath suite, VERY large bathroom. Seagrass walls, corkfloor, and hanging ivy and a skylight and such. Admittedly, it was a huge round roman tub though.
