oops! Another delayed post! Today I am celebrating....for multiple reasons! A) bank holiday weekend! B) was payday yesterday C) Transfered enough money into my savings today to complete my ISA! YAY! This means we are officially half way towards being able to start over payments on our mortgage! (We;re planning to fill both our personal isas and then start)

Decided to spend some of DH's bonus on a holiday so we're off to Orlando next week! YAY! Will still be some of his bonus left when we get back so this will be the lump sum to start off his isa and get us closer to those overpayments!

Oh the downside, the cat is poorly, so we're off to the vets tomorrow lol

Oh dear! Its been alot of months since I posted last!
We've managed to save enough to fill our ISAs!
So now as of Jan we're on to overpaying the mortgage! This is when I start posting more often hopefully!

Aim for 2013 - overpay mortgage by 6000

    Let the journey begin :D

So tomorrow is the last day of 2012...............and the day before the overpaying gets into full swing :D I've set what I think is a reasonable target (£6000) which should allow us to save some money but continue at the same time to save some money in the DIY pot. We've only managed to complete one room in the last 6 months (cos we're slow!) and thereis still lots to do so I'm not wanting to throw everything at the mortgage just yet. Plus we also want to continue to be able to buy things we want, potentially go on holiday etc so we're not in the frame of mind where we're prepared to tighten fully (full credit to those who do, its just not for us)

There are some other goals this year
    - Finish second bedroom (need to finish stripping wallpaper, then have walls skimmed and painted)
    - Re-decorate third bedroom
    - Save some money towards new bathroom

If we could get thos two rooms done and pay our target overpayments I'd be happy :D

Oh, and I desperately need to buy curtains for our recently re-done master bedroom but I am having NO luck finding anything I like lol

i think the firsty par of MFW journey will be to ensure I don't buy any more toiletries until I'm out completely! MIL biought me some for xmas so I've just taken them up to the bathroom and tidied the cupboard so each type is organised.......I cannot believe how much I have in there and every month I buy more! Its crazy!!! So this months goal: No buying shampoo, toilet roll, bath foam or body wash!

So the attempt to spend less money in January didn't go well............an emergency trip to the vet with the cat just set me back £100! Ouch!
