Hi Jackies,
Can you give me any tips for stripping wallpaper off the ceiling?

We used electric wallpaper strippers - we found each bit of wallpaper had 2 layers to it and generally each layer came off one bit at a time. I think wallpaper strippers are the best way to giSealed Pot Challenge (1031) 2012 = 148.17

Got a letter from HMRC today - they have updated my tax code to reflect the money I have claimed.............BOO HISS! I was hoping for a nice pretty cheque!! haha! Oh well, guess I still get the money back one way or another!
Looking at it in abit more depth there adjustment is only equivalent to the amount I'd be entitled to for this year....and doesnt take into account my request to back date them to when I started working, so I wonder if I might get a cheque for the rest? Here's hoping!Sealed Pot Challenge (1031) 2012 = 148.17

Hi Jackies,
That's how we both got ours - a cheque for the back dated due and an adjustment to the tax code for this year - so keep an eye out for it!

Oohhhh fingers crossed! The backdated amount should be similar to the cost of my new washing machine so that would be great!!!Hi Jackies,

Got a letter from HMRC today - they can't process my refund as apparently they have "gaps in their records" so require the P60s from a bunch of my old jobs - typically they seem to be for the years that I don't seem to have ever received! GRRR!
So tomorrow I have to contact my old jobs to get some statements of earnings! Rubbish!Sealed Pot Challenge (1031) 2012 = 148.17

That's a bit worrying that HMRC have 'gaps in their records' and require you to send in your P60s.
Employers send them the P60s (or P14s as they call them) at the end of every tax year - so they should already have that information. Makes you wonder what they've done with it?
Or are they just being lazy getting you to send it again? Or maybe they hope you'll just give up?
Good luck with that.Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

Well the same thoughts popped into my head I have to say - surely there shouldn't be any gaps! I have most of the years that they are missing so hopefully shouldn't be too much of a faff - and of course if there is a refund then it'll be worth the hassle lolThat's a bit worrying that HMRC have 'gaps in their records' and require you to send in your P60s.

Oopps haven't posted for a while! Been away at a wedding in Israel (tut tut very unMSE!) but am now back
Managed to save a further £790 into the ISA today bring the total to 4500.12 - so now far from being maxed out
And in other good news - DH got a bonus - FAR bigger than we were expecting......so we've decided to treat ourselves to a joint holiday in a few months time - just trying to decide where at the moment. The rest will be saved - not sure how much will be left until we sort out the holidaySealed Pot Challenge (1031) 2012 = 148.17
