Wickes delivery to a pavement

I think if i lived in a flat i would have asked what was going to happen when the tiles were delivered. I wouldn't imagine many drivers wanting to do multiple trips up and down stairs.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

All deliveries I've had have been into the house. Tiles into the hall, baths upstairs, the only thing left outside have been slabs and sand, and they have been placed on the drive or lawn.0

but that would be the drivers call
by leaving kerbside in the T&Cs,it saves hassle on dogy delivery points0 -
Not just installations, all kitchens and bathrooms.
Different service to be fair. Both kitchens and bathrooms are delivered nationally from central warehouses with a dedicated service which does have different T&C's when it comes to delivery. Everything else is delivered from a local store.
Any builders merchant would do the same service. Kerbside delivery only. This is what the Wickes delivery service should be compared to. Not that of John Lewis..........0 -
Pay a local labourer or the tenant £30 to bring it all in, or just offer it to the driver as a drink
as others have said its common with sheds and builders merchants
Kitchen stuff/ bathroom gear etc is ghenerally easier to move/ higher value so will (just) be delivered inside so.......0 -
They contradict their terms when a kitchen and bathroom is delivered, all items are put where the customer wants.
But those items don't come on a pallet.
All bulk materials (sand, cement, tiles, bricks etc) will be offloaded to the kerb using a grab truck. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I've recently had tiles delivered myself and had to carry them all into my house - still got sore hands and arms and bruises on my legs to prove it! However, I did check and every retailer I found only delivered kerbside. I was lucky in that the driver bought the pallet up the path for me.
Check my recent thread for more info.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
...how can they do anything but 'kerbside', firstly they will have a raft of drivers claiming compo for bad backs, then they will have customers claiming for dirty carpets or ripped wallpaper. Its peoples own faults that things have gone the way they have by the compensation culture that is all to common in this country recentluy
:T
OP - you should have been there to refuse the delivery. Or carry it.0 -
Must be me them.B&Q, deliver into the house, local builders merchants into the hall, City Plumbing the stars of the show, delivery upstairs with me for heavy items.0
