Just create a dir C:\HJT and put it in there to run. (this is a permanent dir and not in temp files)

In windows Explorer File, New Folder C:\HJT and then copy the HijackThis.exe file from C:\Documents and Settings\Marie\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\1JVX3P38\hijackthis[1]\HijackThis.exe

No need to download it again as it already on your PC.

For visual learners with limited Windows skills here is a graphic explanation of using Windows Explorer (no, not Internet Explorer, but Windows Explorer which is the File and Directory (a.k.a. Folder) Manager). This tutorial will also teach you skills about basic directory (folder) structure and copying and pasting:
Our task is to create a folder for HijackThis in the C: drive root level (first tree level of folders, also called the mother level).
I like to start Windows Explorer by clicking with the right mouse button on the Start button:

A submenu will come up...left button click on the word Explore.

So to recap that step... It's a right click on the Start button and left click on the word Explore.
Very quick way to pull up Windows Explorer.

Next step: Pull up vertical slide bar to view the Local Disk (C:) icon.

Next: Double left click on the C: drive entry

Next: In the right hand Window right button click in an open area:

When the menu appears left click on New

and slide on over into the adjacent popup menu and left button click on Folder.


Now you have a New Folder blinking...

immediately type over the letters with your new folder name HJT.
