Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) andjoin us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Had another night where I was awake every hour so I got up at 5am, had some boiled eggs and soldiers and am on my second coffee.
I had to buy a new kettle yesterday and I know that it will take a long time to get rid of the plastic taste even using vinegar so I have brought out the trusty old fashioned metal one with a whistle and just use the hob to boil it, whatever is left goes into a big flask so that I am not forever using electrickery as Catweazle would say (Yes I am as old as that :rotfl:)
I am enjoying the quiet at the moment, but DH will be getting up in 20 minutes.
Poor rabbit is still sniffing and we can't get him to drink, so I will see what the vet says later.
Have good days all and (((((Hugs))))) to all the poorlys x

morning chums well I took myself off to bed last night at 8.00 at I wasn't feeling too brilliant, and just woke up about 10 minutes ago so I must have needed it.Arm still looks like a large red salami, and the fingers are like sausages, but by tomorrow the anti-bios should start to kick in.It looks like I have been badly sunburned on one arm and it makes you feel a bit 'flu'ey.Still I went for my mammogram, and the lady said they would send the results so fingers crossed (well on one hand anyway :)) I steered clear of the nurses in case they started to fuss, and was in and out as quickly as I could. I have History Club this afternoon which I don't want to miss if I can help it.This time next week I shall be packing so my arm has got to get better by then.
Right I'm off to have a shower and some breakfast
Take care all and <<hugs to those who are feeling sad or blue >>
    Cheers chums JackieO xx

    Morning All!

Didn't sleep too badly last night, phantom doorbell went off twice tho!
DS and DDIL are off to Legoland today with DD, DSIL, and DGD, so a bit of peace and quiet for me!:rotfl:

Got to pick up my World Book Night Books today from our local library. Got picked last year, and was really pleased to be picked again. I've got the new Sophie Kinsella to give away. Only got 24 this time though, last year I had 50. Still any books are better than no books.

((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to JackieOHope you feel better soon.

Had a lovely birthday with all the family. I feel truly blessed.:A

Am really looking forward to going to the Lake District next week and seeing where my DS has spent the last three years!

Sun out at the moment, going to the local Chinese tonight. Yum! Diet has been abandoned at the moment, but BP is still coming down! :T

    Have a good day all.

    Good Morning All

Missed yesterdays thread so I don't know what you did to your arm Jackie but hope it heals asap.

Its Friday at last :j and no rain here at the moment but I believe its going to come, yesterday it didn't stop all day and the forcast for the next few days is reain :o guess its needed but it does bring everyone's mood down.

DD's car is now insured, taxed and sitting on the drive. She would really like some dry weather so she can clean it but think she may be waiting for a while.

For the first time this week I have a day where I don't need to be anywhere this morning, have to go to work tonight but that is much later. Going to get office essentials done then get on with the housework, it really needs it. I am much more productive in the morning so hope to get loads done.

    Chicken wraps for dinner tonight.

    Have a brilliant Friday everyone.x

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Overcast, dark and damp here this morning, although not raining at the moment. DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was a mix up of bits I already had at home because I didn't stop off at the SM to buy more, seems this OS way is really becoming set in my brain. I checked freezer and cupboards and discovered I'd got a packet of chicken breast pieces in batter, 2 x packets of golden vegetable rice, and a pasta bake sauce and mushrooms in the fridge that needed using up - I had baked fish instead of the chicken - the menfolk all said how nice it was as it was something different!

Went to Opticians yesterday and now have a new pair of lenses, will be wearing them but will take it steady and if I'm only going to be pottering about then may just wear my glasses - did put them in yesterday at the Opticians for them to do their checks and then left them in for several hours and it was fine. Was reasonably productive yesterday - did housework, managed to get all the ironing done that was dry enough but will continue with that today - as having to dry everything in TD. Did some work on pc for caravan rally.

Will be heading into town shortly, will visit the bank, building society and have a couple of other jobs to do too. Have an on-line shop coming at 3-4pm this afternoon, need to do some baking, tins are completely empty, change beds, pack for going away in the morning, buy tomato plants, another busy day off I think!!

Have a great Friday everyone x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x
