Agree totally with cheap gravy, I got the Tesco value one...never again!
I'd rather go totally meat free than have Tesco value chicken ever again, tasted of nothing.0 -

I can't taste any difference whatsoever.
I still add an OXO cube. And my BS has a 400g tin of tomatoes and a 140g tin of tomato puree, so is nice and "tomatoey". The puree adds taste and also thickens the sauce, so again it doesn't need to be reduced as much. It's also slightly cheaper than a second tin of tomatoes.
My recipes for both should be somewhere on the OS board, but I can PM them, if required. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

<snip> The worst mince in the world is the Iceland frozen mince, it looks like extruded cattle food and falls apart into sand-like grains when cooked. <snip>
That actually might be good for Bolognese sauce. Strictly speaking, the meat should be very finely ground. A lot depends on the fat content, though. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
