Hello frooglefraggle, you will have a lovely time using this thread. Its full of useful ideas.
A planned nsd for me today, i say planned as i may pop out with my mum later, if i do i shall just get the bits that i planned to buy this sunday.
I also have a panny and compared to my friends hm bread using her bm, yes it does taste better. Perhaps the parts used to make it are a superior quality to others. Also the technology & research behind the top brands tends to be far better than lower brands. Or perhaps its the same as the difference between fillet steak and stewing steak. I'm a fillet girl myslef, Though i can stretch stewing steak a lot further. Each to their own.

    Good morning!

I have had another rice burger with a fried egg on top. I only ate 1 yesterday and popped the other in the fridge. So convenient to nuke something for 30 seconds. I'd forgotten how convenient microwaves were.

I guess today's dinner will be chilli!!!! I might do wedges with it though as I am bored with rice now.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

I am sat here thinking how good I have been.
I did a big shop at the start of my weekly challenge and have only been out for a YS hunt once since then!!! Feeling rather chuffed.
Maybe I am gaining control of this Ts addiction!

Hehe! I rustled another rice burger and egg for OH who looked at it suspiciously and asked what it was. I made him try it first. Verdict: Very nice.
My eldest got up asking for a cooked breakfast because he could smell something tasty.

My youngest had the same as yesterday: rice warmed up in the microwave with whole milk and syrup. Empty bowl again!,

    Yay!

It definitely will be a nsd for me today. I'm working till 6pm, not very happy as i wanted to take the day off, I'm having tomorrow off instead. Still not happy as i logged on for 9pm and i will now be working an extra hour as its not worth me logging off and back on again. Whinge over. At least none of my pennies will be spent.

    Seventh Anniversary Combo Breaker
My first post, so be gentle good people, our pay day is the 28th so it's a bit late for this month, so will join in the June GC if that's okay with everyone? There's just me and Mr Cookie and 2 kitties, this month we've spent about £425 on food which for two of us is blinking ridiculous and that's just from the receipts I've found

I'm ashamed at the amount of food in the freezer and cupboards and yet I still go out and buy more :( It has to stop, so yesterday after reading some of the inspirational stuff on the Grocery Challenge thread, I went and did a list of all the contents of the cupboards, fridge & freezer and created a spreadsheet which is to be turned into a 4 week meal plan (I hope) later today. Looking at what is in the cupboards it's becoming apparent that I stock pile special offers and BOGOF's with no real idea of what to do with them and we seem to stick to the same menu week after week which includes takeaway and convenience meals :(

I have a breadmaker which has been dusted off and in now on using up some of the flour mountain (why was I buying it when I wasn't using it?) Making apple and cinnamon bread to accompany a coronation chicken filling for Mr C's pack up tomorrow after reading on another thread where the chap said he used cinnamon & sultana bread with chicken for sarnies, so thought I'd give it a try and some can be toasted for my breakie tomorrow :)

I have to work out what our food budget should be, will assess it after I've meal planned with what's in. What I do know is this silly spending on stuff I can make myself has to stop and we need to start saving money so that we can use to do the things we want to do. Looking forward to reading more of everyone's posts and learning to eat and live within my new budget.

    Mrs Cookie :)

Welcome to the thread Mrs Cookie, i have found everyone on the GC to be very hepful, so dive in and ask any questions you need to :) Well done for already having done an inventory, thats a fab start!

Well, my fish pie for dinner was SO lovely last night, and i was VERY pleased with it. The only downside was that because i used frozen veg instead of fresh, it was a tad watery, but still tasted fab, so it a got eaten.
Was going to save some for this evenings dinner, but it all got eaten!
So tonights dinner is Toad in the hole with frozen veg and salad.

Planning a NSD today, and going to do some baking (bounty balls, flapjacks, muffins).
    Have a great day everyone!

    HI all,
Just came across this forum and i think it is great!
I'd thought i would introduce myself and hope you do not mind my late entry onto the forum. :)
Due to me being a bit of a dingbat and losing all control of spending, (although in no debt, just now have very little money coming in) i decided to be more froogle. I keep all my receipts and realized the cost of what i am spending on food a week is ridiculous.. £400.00 this month so far on food and take aways, visits to my corner shop are the worse oh and the £4.00 a day on the icecream van on they way home from school is not helping and the 2lt bottle of diet coke for myself every day is adding up pretty quickly.
Just going to lay out my plan of action starting today until Thursday 31st.
    1. I have two freezers stuffed to the brim with food.... use them
    2. No Spend Days after today's essential Grocery shop (mainly milk and fruit) i have restricted my budget to £25.00 i know it sounds a lot but i need to get on top of this spending.....

    Hi FF.

Those little trips to the corner sho used to really bump my food bills up,as i found that i was popping in at least 3 times a week and spending about £10 a time! Good luck with using up what you already have!
