Can I ask a question please? I have left over bolognaise sauce but I have left over spaghetti as well. I would usually just freeze the sauce, but have never frozen cooked pasta before.

Will it work if I put the pasta in a dish and put the sauce on top or do I need to mix them together or is it best to not freeze the pasta. ie will it go soggy?

    Thanks for any advice.

Absolutely, just bung them in together and you've got a home made ready meal, I do it all the time :)

Had to nip into Spar for a loaf of white bread. £1 loaf YS to 40p and (now here's the best bit) handed over 40p and left the shop :T

I have another 2 NSD's to declare. I am doing well this month with them. My budget runs until Thursday so I am well under my spend sig for the second month. I think that next month I will revise it down significantly as I am now getting into a much better routine.

Tonight's dinner was lo chicken with rice. I have a friend round tomorrow night for dinner but I haven't decided what to make. *Wanders off to the freezer for inspiration.

  • Evening All,
Managed to swerve a takeaway this evening so feeling pleased with myself. It was however a spend day as the 60 galaxy bars that I ordered from amazon arrived today!

Oh went to mr t's yesterday so he chose a half price pizza express pizza for tonight served with salad. I am thinking of making a veggie lasagne for the first time tomorrow as i have broccoli, courgettes, peppers and carrots in.

    Night x

While cooking dinner - I made 12 sultana muffins - can't have unused oven space. Cost about 60p - all in the freezer now.

    Good morning!:)
    I'm liking the muffin picture!

Breakfast this morning is chocolate brioche! The family had the last of the cornflakes and I'm not going to restock until my next shop.
There's always toast and porridge! I emptied the last cornflakes into the other cornflake bag in the freezer:T

Dinner will probably be a vegetable curry n rice. Easy, nutritious and CHEAP!

At least with a curry, the family are less likely to moan about the absence of meat. OH cooked the last 2 days and wouldn't let me step in so there has been lasagne and cottage pie with my Lidl mince packs. I'm a little annoyed coa I would stretch a pack of mince to make meals for 2 days so it's false economy when I get 'help'.
    Could be worse I suppose.
I don't know why on earth I've gone off meat so much. I wanted to go veggie when I met OH many moons ago but cooking for such a carnivore made it unpractical (and I am such a practical person).
I did enjoy the taste of meat but it was the ethical reasons.
Now my tastes are changing most definitely. If we have meat curries, I fish the meat out to put on OHs plate.

I have heard the scariest things about meat too. A friend of mine came back from abroad (where she lives 6 months of the year!) and told me that a friend over there has a cancerous tumour. She was told to cut out ALL animal products for several months. She did so and when she returned for a check on the tumor's progress, it had reduced in size significantly. She was told that animal products are full of growth hormones
I think that knowing things like this has convinced me that I don't even like the taste anymore. I just wish I could afford to buy the family organic produce instead.

Anyway, enough of my morning musings....

Have a lively day folks and get yer washing on the line!;)
