My two children and I have spent the morning tidying together, and the house is looking much better - I feel good about it now. I tend to feel really blue if the house is a mess, but when it's a mess I can't find the energy to fix it?!?!!?

My DS who's nearly 19 came down this morning and said that he is going to spend the day tidying his room:eek:

Not only is he tidying his room, but has gone through his wardrobe and put 4 bags of clothes to charity. One small bag of rubbish and is now hoovering - Think I need to go and have a lie down :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

edit: sorry not about grocery challenge at all, but am so happily amazed and know how PG feels about how much better you feel when the house is tidy. DD also doing her bit too of polishing, her bedroom and the bathroom (although I did have to ask her to do those things)
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I just need to ask...I've searched and searched online, but can't get an answer.

What can I use 2 cans of brown Princes crab meat (in brine) for? A while ago I wanted to use a recipe using crab meat but when I got home I realized it was with white crab meat not brown.
    :A

Mix with some mashed potatoe and seasoning and make into crab cakes/ fish cakes coat in bread crumbs and you won't even notice that you used brown meat some mushy peas and hm chips and now i'm the one feeling hungry!

Oh and big thankyou to who ever suggested putting ginger in a carrot soup. Its just revived my bendy carrots into lunch and 2 extra portions for the freezer and to be honest carrot soup has never appealed enough to me before. NSD for the last 2 days :T but i do need milk, making do with coffee creamer right now and fruit tea bags as would rather not be tempted by the sm.
Consolidated and under control 42 payments to go.

I went to Sainsbugs where I got some loose leaf tea, trex, sweets - I know but they were value ones! I also bought a beech wood mallet - I have been looking for one - I had one in my kitchen utensils before I married/moved in with Mr F. We have managed without one until now but it was £3 and I am trying to update my kitchen stuff. So the total in there was £9.29 but I didn't spend any money - used a gift voucher we had been given ages ago. I still have money left on it!

Finally got round to making some butter yesterday. 600ml of double cream gave me nearly 300g of fantastic, pure butter for £1 (Co-op).

The downside is that I may have burnt out the motor on my 30 year-old food processor, by 'churning' the whole 600ml at once! :(

Well done!!! I use a cheap basic electric whisk. Was less than a fiver from Tesco. Worth it's weight in gold. I bet Argos would do them too! Invest in one for easy butter making.

My electric whisk is bordering on vintage - Kenwood - case is a bit discoloured with age - not dirt! They don't make them so well/long lasting now - I reckon it is 35 years old.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Right it's my first offical report. Went out yesterday to Ald! and Asba £17.38 and £14.18 respectively But this did include £2 on dry cat food and £3.80 on cat treats (that they go crackers for) the rest from Ald! was mostly biscuits and DHs favourite Chicken encroutes. I'm away on business all week and if I don't make sure he has things to slam in the oven he just orders takeaways

Asba included McCains Wedges reduced to £1 and I had a 50p coupon and Finish dishwasher cleaner £3 with a £1 coupon, I also spent £5.50 on birthday cards as I have quite a few coming up. Only really baddie was getting a mini tube of Colgate for my trip £1.12 (you can get a full size Aquafresh at Tescos for £1, what was I thinking?!??!?) and then coming home to fine my free sample of Oral B had arrived and I could have just used that. Poo!!! :(

In the afternoon I finally dragged my charity bags to the village with the intention of dropping and running. But when I got to the car park a nice lady gave me her ticket, so I ended up having a wander around going into M&$ and doing the £10 meal deal, oops!!

So weekly total was £51.13 which is great considering I used to spend £80 to £100 per week at Mr T's.

I'm not going to include my lunches next week as essentially I have no choice but to buy them being away and we can claim a £3.75 incidentals allowance for each day and hopefully that will cover it.

One last thing can someone explain to me 2nd purse?
