Buy it on Vodafone, cheapest, and pay £15 to have it unlocked.

Just a thought - if it is going to cost you £150 to buy the phone and £15 to unlock it a cheap orange contract might be worthwhile considering. You get the K800i (or the W850i) on a 12 month dolphin tariff for £20 per month which gives you 50 anytime minutes and 75 texts.
So, this contract would give you a fully Orange compatible phone, would cost you £240 over 12 months against which you would get £25 Quidco cashback leaving a net cost of £215. That would be £50 more than buying from Play and unlocking however much less hassle and leaves you with a contract entitlement to 50 mins and 75 texts a month.
Get a more expensive Orange contract (over £30) in-store just now and you would get free broadband too and £150 trade-in allowance for any old mobile against the K800i or W810i.
Hope this helps.0 -
What about buying one on Ebay, used but usually in good condition for about £120?0

Some food for thought here thx.
Is the vodaphone payasyougo?
I am on a pay as you go,Orange sim. This was from years ago.I get an itemised bill each month and this is payed via direct debit each month.
The idea at the time was allthough you are on Orange the price of calls a text were set to the cheapest around at the time. These are based on virgin network.
I hope this makes sense.
So allthough I am on payg it is really easy like paying my normal Bt bil
Anyone else heard of this plan?
Have looked on ebay and people are paying more than you can buy them new for this model.0 -
sounds like you'll be better off with a ctt. phone. How much do you normally spend on top-ups in a year ?? Add this in to the cost and a decent cashback contract will prob save you loads.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

If you buy it and get it unlocked (not by the PAYG operator you bought it from) the warranty, including with SE, will be voided. If you buy on ebay, no warranty generally. Worth considering as not a cheap phone.0

gaming_guy, I've got SE problems. Can you PM me or explain how you got SE to fix your phone? Was it screen related? Didn't your provider (O2, Orange etc.) offer to fix the phone?
Thx in advance.0
