    Hello everyone.

    Any advice please?

I have a normal SKY box but for some reason (it is 6 years old) some of the channels dont come on such as ITV, BBC4 etc - I am sure it is a technical fault.

Apparently they will charge £65 to repair THEIR box so is there something I can do ie threaten cancellation, and get them to repair it for free or even better get an upgrade to SKY + etc?

Anyone done this before with a faulty box?

Yes, my Sky+ box died after about 14 months, phoined up and they tried to charge me for fixing it.

I just explained to them that I wasn't going to pay them to fix the box so they could have the benefit of charging me £37 a month so I wanted to cancel, they soon changed their tune.

If they don't in your case, you may as well get a Freeview box as it will cost a third as much and you save the sub!

It is not " THEIR " box, it is your box, try unplugging the Sky Receiver for a few minutes, then plug it back in.

:rotfl: the old classic! I hope they have tried that.....

Is your signal strength ok? and is the cable at the back secure too?

I had trouble getting channels once and if you call technical help they will take you through a process of trying to help you get your channels back on. They give my box a software upgrade last time and that solved the problem. Call them and try it.

Disconnected in Feb. Got a call last night offering free Sky+ plus free installation if I rejoined for twelve months. It was a point of call offer though according to the girl on the phone.

Didn't take up the offer, I was tempted but not quite enough... :)

Can't believe you paid £120 for freesat:rolleyes: . I have just signed up as a new customer for a 6 month contract for 2 mixes for £75 and I am free to cancel after that. I am currently on Virgin and have just cancelled and although I have a TV with built in freeview, I didn't have an aerial so that was goiing to cost me about £80 to buy and get fitted. This way I have managed to get it for £75 and get the 2 mixes for "free" as it were:p
