Personally didn't use one for either of my sons. Think ToysRus and Argos are about the cheapest for things like those usually. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
What about putting a wanted notice on your local Freecycle (and buying a new mattress)? Or, as the previous poster mentioned, asking around friends and family.
Is the Moses basket for your own baby? I borrowed 2 baskets for my twins, but both of them hated sleeping in them, and I didn't use one for their little sister, born 2 years later. She slept in a cot beside our bed - though I realise not everyone has space for a full-size cot in their bedroom.0 -
Try this one
http://www.kiddicare.com/page/navpage?N=0&Ntk=primary&Ntt=basket&D=basket
I just went to kiddicare's websire and then did a search on basket.
They have got them from £19.97 for a pink or turquoise one or £25ish for a cream one which are good prices. They also sell the stands.
Perhaps you could save money and buy a stand from ebay or the boot sale and just buy the basket new.
Also check out kiddicare's x-deals or clearance as they have really good things for stupid prices (I paid £3.50 for a bag which everywhere else was costing £29.99).
Kiddicare are very good in my experience and very reliable.
Hope this helps19/03/2007 Start weight 15st 7lbs

I think people are just responding to your question by considering the statement in your signature.
"When spending money think of this. ...
Do I really need this item? Can I borrow it from someone? Can I make it for less? Can I use something else to do the same task? Can I buy it second hand? Will it be in the sale in a week or month time? Do I already have it somewhere in the house? Can I haggle down the price for say paying cash? Can I buy it & shared it with a friend or neighbour?"
For what it's worth, I would still suggest that you borrow/buy a second hand moses basket and just buy a brand new foam mattress. I wouldn't waste money on a new basket, personally.0 -

No I wouldn't either I can understand wanting new for certain things but I got a 2nd hand moses basket and was soo glad ,I just bought a new matteress washed the covers borrowed a stand from a friend .
little jopsey was only a small baby born but had out grown his by 7 weeks old and was in his cot .0 -
I have a grudge against moses baskets. It's the power of advertising which has mums thinking these are essential items! They aren't! You are going to have to have a cot soon anyway, save yourself £30 & the sleepless nights which will probably ensue when you switch from moses basket to cot anyway & go straight to the cot;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
When it was my first I would never have bought 2nd hand. This time round I have bought one off a friend that was used three times!!!!
Argos do a brightly coloured one for £27.49 375 /5101, but I'm sure I've seen them cheaper somewhere, but can't think where! Have you tried your local market? Some baby stalls sell them. Try kiddicare - they do cheap baby things. only £19.99 if you know if you want pink or blue!
Saw this on the argos clearance section - not a moses basket but a fisher price ocean wonders bouncer reduced to £9.99 375 1332.
good luck0
