Dim the screen slightly or have it on auto, I did find it could take a few seconds to brighten though.
How long is the screen active before it switches off? I think it was something silly like 20 minutes out of the box.
Switch wifi ON.. It's probably using more battery life connecting to the phones network than it does with wifi.
I always charge mine overnight. Whether it needs it or not.
How many apps running? Live wallpaper? I love the microbes live paper, keep tapping the screen and they multiply but eats more battery life.
The last update actually seemed to make mine worse on the battery.
I have about 8 email accounts that sync between once an hour to once a day.
Weather app always live. But most news updates are disabled.

I definately get 36 hours plus out of a full charge on mine. Did you fully charge the battery when it was new? In your shoes I'd check all the app settings, then put the phone on charge SWITCHED off for a full uninterrupted 12 hours.
I'm trying to get into the habit of putting mine on charge every night, but it isn't a disaster if I forget.
Extended charging will ruin a lithium based battery; so modern handsets include battery protection which will turn off and/ or reduce the charging current when the battery is almost full. ( and then turns it on when the charge has dropped a little)
So you won't gain anything by leaving it "off" and charging for twelve hours0 -

You will if previous charges have only been short periods tho. As the battery will never have reached full capacity.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.
