Presumably Rachel feels better. If she feels good about it and also it takes away the threat of someone from DWP inviting her her in for interview under caution for not informing them of a change of circumstance.

Probably it helps psychologically too. :j:j:j

Just up an' at 'em Rachel. No telling what you can do when you try........

Yes and good on her. BUT perhaps she did not realise she could still claim DLA whilst working. There was a reason why she got it in the first place.

As long as she informs them she started work etc etc she has nothing to worry about. :D

    Hi
I would check your bank account just to check that your DLA has not gone in this month - DWP don't always send letters out.
Best of luck for the future

I'm sure no maliciousness was meant, a 'smilie might ha been better and possibly 'are you okay' would have been better but it was an unusual post from Nannytone and Im
sure no animosity is present between the two posters given the circumstances.

Don't forget payments are usually in arrears, so it's likely you will get 1 more payment so don't fret.
Good on you for getting off benefits.

I've been sent a change of circumstance pack - so I wrote again to say I didn't want it, please cancel my benefit. I heard nothing. Just been on phone to DWP and told to write again - saying nothing but:

"I do not wish to complete a change of circumstances form"

"I feel I am no longer entitled to DLA"

So I put them as bullet points, size 16, bold!! :rotfl:

You'd think they'd be jumping for joy and running to hit the 'cancel' button when someone decided they didn't want any benefit anymore ;)

Will be so frustrated if my next payment comes in to my account in a few days.

I think maybe they will expect you to fill out the whole form, part of the procedure, it might be a requirement for you to fill out the change of circumstance form just for govermental purposes and to do things properly, just put one word answers, Ive never had one so dont know what they entail but if its things like has your illness changed just put yes its got better, stuff like that, I know its horrible filling out those long forms but at least you wont have to go into long drawn out answers explaining your illness.

As for being frustrated if you recieve money in the next few days, dont be, its what your entitled to and as its paid in arrears it should be the last one, its whats owed to you so just spend it :)
not all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!
  • HI there,

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but what was your outcome here RachelBP and how long did it take, if you dont mind me asking?

I have recently sent a request in writing to terminate my DLA award and have been advised that I will receive a questionnaire in the next 10 days to determine whether I still require DLA. I probably do still require it, but the fact of the matter is that I dont want it anymore. I have quite bad anxiety issues and this is one of the things that I have fixated on (unfortunately), so even if I am found to still be entitled, I really dont want to be in receipt of it.

Any inputs from anyone would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    SG
