  • Today has felt like hard work. DH has had pretty immense mood swings and has created misunderstandings and problems that, although not unsolveable, I could have done without!!

Some positives for today though; we do not have to go to Job Centre appointment next week any more, as this has been cancelled due to DH being placed in the Support Group, and total spends for today have been just £1.90 as we all went swimming and only had to pay for DS1.

Brilliant news on the support group for your DH.

My DH has had a moody few days and misunderstood everything I said. I can just imagine what it is like for you too. You have my sympathy. Mr P does realise a few days later and wonders what he was thinking!

  • Cheers Pooh! I know you know what it's like to have a moody DH too, so my sympathy is returned in abundance!!

Busy day today. Gym this morning then off to my sisters to help her shift loads of stuff to the tip. They've had a new bathroom put in and needed everything from the old one removed from where it had been dumped in the back garden. It took a few trips and annoyingly their local tip is closed, so it was a 30 minute round trip each time. It saved them needing a skip though and she gave me more than was needed to cover the diesel :D.

Found out today that my cousin is 3 months pregnant. I'm thrilled for her as they didn't think she could have children and she will make a lovely Mum. Only felt the tiniest pang of jealousy! I think I'm finally coming to terms with it all.

Got the decision letter for the Support Group in the post today. It's very comprehensive and hopefully will help a lot when it comes to renewal in 2016!

    It's half term :j:j

  • Not a great deal to report! Met the family for coffee today, Grandma gave me £5 to pay for the drinks and total was £5.55 so only a tiny spend there. Also spent £4.50 on a tray of eggs from the farm shop and £42 on new trainers for DH (which he now wants to take back and get a bigger size despite insisting they were great in the shop ).

We also got a renewal pack in the post to reapply for DH's DLA, which runs out in October. Guess it pays to be organised but it seems rather early!!

Work tonight was busy busy busy. Glad to be home Xx

Lucky, as you know I follow your diary a bit sporadically. But I am SO PLEASED that DH was put into the Support Group FINALLY. That must be such a weight lifted off your shoulders. So well done with keeping on keeping on. Does it make any difference in terms of money, or is it more just that you don't have to deal with the t0ssers at At0s anymore? As I am not in the UK, I am curious as to how it works.

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • The honest answer is that I don't know yet Chev. Apparently the new award will come separately in the post. From what I can find online I *think* we might be about £7 per week better off, but overall the main benefit is just that we will be left in peace to adapt to life instead of being forced to attend pointless interviews etc. Will update on here when any paperwork arrives.

    Hope you are ok Xx

They always send renewal packs about 5mths early in case they need to write to consultants/GPs etc once the form is returned.
If they have not finished their investigations by October the DLA stops until they have finished.

They like to give themselves ample time to sort everything.

You would be surprised how many people come and see me with their renewal with only 4wks to go - I have to explain that it is likely their DLA will stop as the forms won't have been dealt with in that time. They never seem to have a good reason for not doing it earlier.

I know though, Lucky, that you will have it done in the next few weeks:rotfl:

You are right about the support group, it is about £7per week more and you might also get extra disability premiums plus of course the fact that you don't have to have stupid work focused interviews!! (When I say might, this is because I don't know the make up of the claim and whether DH is on contribution or income related because I know you work)

It will be a nice windfall from September :T
  • Cheers EE, it's always good to have imput from 'someone in the know'!!

The DLA form will be done this week! Can't abide stuff hanging over me and certainly couldn't cope if any monies were stopped .

DH gets income related ESA. I believe we already get some kind of disability premium. Lady at JCP said they wouldn't be in contact re work related interviews until 2016 :j.

I'm sure there is an extra disability premium in the support group, I would check but my work laptop is at work and I am not back until Tuesday.

If you haven't heard by then I will check for you.

Maybe do the DLA form the week after as this coming week is half term and I am sure the kids need to be kept amused:rotfl:
  • Thanks for the offer EE, that's really kind Xx

I was thinking of doing the forms on an evening when they are in bed!!
