  • Thank you brizzle, knit witch and granny.

Unfortunately all previous correspondence was over the telephone, so no backup, however guy I spoke to last night said the wonderful phrase "I can see what has happened and it's OUR FAULT", so I'm just going to keep pressing with that.

Feel slightly hysterical about the whole thing this morning!

DS2 is at a party this morning, then I'm at work tonight. I fear you me find me rocking in a corner by 9pm :rotfl:.

Just read your post from yesterday Lucky and can't believe what happened! I agree with the others - write to your MP. No one deserves to be treated like that. Mr SA is on ESA too and is in the support group at present. However, I understand that when he's been on it a year (April) he'll move from contribution based ESA to income related ESA whereby they'll take my income and DD's income into account. No doubt I'll earn 50p a year too much for him to claim it! There's no way he'll be ready to go back to work in April.

Hope things are better today. Keep on trucking!

    Sorry to butt in SA.

If your husband is in the support group he is not limited to 365 days - it is only work related that are.

So no need to worry :T
  • (((PLMBL)))

Just wondering if your DH is in work related group or support group?
It seems like he is in work related group given how many appts you have to have - the people I know in the support group go once a year/once every 2 years.

If he is in work related then I think it is worth writing to see if he can go in support group - if you need help let me know.

Of course if he is in support group already then I think a complaint needs to happen as I think you are being called too often.

I often have the 'why me?' about my DH - I think the reason he does not get much help from GP/hospital is because he did not have an accident and instead he woke up ill one day (3 yrs ago now) and is getting progressively worse and they don't know what it is.

Sometimes when he has been awful for days I have a good cry and on some days he has a good cry because he would rather be dead than have this pain - and there is nothing I can say as I agree with him.

    Bloody neurological conditions:mad:
  • Hugs back at you EE. Must be so hard for you both.

DH is in the work related group but I have appealed for him to go into the Support group and I'm awaiting a decision. One of the issues I have is that having seen 5 advisors over 18 months, it's only the most recent advisor that has asked why we haven't appealed and brought it to our attention that DH should be in the support group.

Thank you so much for your offer of help, particularly with all you have on your own plate Xx

That's really interesting EE and Lucky, I didn't know there was an ESA support group. I'm going to tell my exDH about that, as he's really struggling at the moment and I was glad that he went to his GP to ask for a month's sick note. He gets very depressed when he compares what he can do now with what he used to be capable of. He was a real power-house, not very well formally educated but exceptionally bright. Sadly, his memory function is shot to pieces.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Pleased to be of help Satchmo, hope he gets somewhere with it. Just shows it's not very well advertised if not many know of it! Xx

Survived the party! Avoided all the cakes etc and only had a strawberry!! Polishing my halo as I type.

Not a peep from Utility company .

  • Wow, that is absolutely shocking about the utility company! It is their fault so just keep plugging away at that angle and see what they can do. You've got really solid grounds to complain.

I seventh complaining to your MP about the treatment you received from the ESA people. The more people who complain, the more likely less people will be treated the same in the future.

You've had a really rough week, be kind to yourself and stay strong (you always do anyway :)).

Edit: Just seen your post above, well done on avoiding the cake!

  • I hate utility companies. If I could afford solar panels then I would do it in a minute and have as little to do with these companies as I could. They are just robbers!!
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Still not heard from Utility company. Will call them later this afternoon if nothing by then. Did get 2 randomly generated emails from them yesterday, the first saying they are changing my tariff and it will cost approximately £5 more per month  and the second saying it is time to submit my meter readings despite the guy on the phone on Friday advising me not to do it until month end!!!

Went out for Grandma's postponed birthday meal yesterday. Only one veggie option on the menu so had to order it but it was truly disgusting. Sent it back and chef sent out a vegetable pie, which while tasty, did nothing for my diet (neither did the birthday cupcake I had afterwards! :o). Hoping it wont ruin things at the scales on Tuesday as I can never get away with anything! I've made a point of running up the stairs a few times to counteract it :rotfl:.

Had a rather emotional day again yesterday. Cried at absolutely everything :o.

Off to dentist shortly as both boys have check up appointments and then we are going swimming :D Xx
