  • Thanks all!

Went back to gym this morning. That's 3 days of exercise IN A ROW!! Feeling rather pleased with myself :rotfl:.

DH hasn't been good this afternoon/evening. I could tell just by looking at him he was having a 'waves of fear' moment at lunch time, and he has had several more since then. He has been tired/forgetful since and has also complained of headaches. Fingers crossed it doesn't develop any further.

My sister came for tea tonight (chilli con carne, yum!). It's her birthday on Saturday but I won't see her again until Sunday when we all go out for lunch, so I gave her her present to take home today. She wanted us to all go out with her on Sat for lunch, but DH has an MRI appointment, so it's been moved to Sunday.

My boss called as well and has put me on the rota for Saturday night 5-8pm. She said I can see how I go and if I only manage an hour then at least I've tried. I feel much better physically, I just get very tired still, so I'm hoping I'll manage ok. It's only 3 hours.

    I've zumba later! Can't wait!!! :D

    Hope DH is ok :)

  • Hope you enjoyed zumba HAW, I'm sure you did.

DH and I went to bed at 9pm last night. I thought the rest would do us both good. DH woke up right as rain (well for him!) this morning and I woke up still shattered :(.

Went to Mr T's this morning and had a day off from the gym. Stocked up on good healthy food so we are sorted for a few days at least. Spent £80

Took DS2 to softplay this afternoon with a bunch of Mums and little ones from nursery. It was really nice getting to know everyone, thoroughly enjoyed it. DH came too and sat with his hareem :p.

We had mushy pea curry and home made onion bhajis for tea tonight. Much yummier than it sounds :rotfl:.

    Still no Aunt Flo .

It is good that you have an understanding boss. But make sure you don't overdo things. I bet DH enjoyed his afternoon at softplay with all the mums :D Have you an 4ldi near you? Much cheaper than Mr Ts and a lot quicker to get round too. We go to 4ldi then nip next door to Mr Ts when we have the cash for the extras we can't buy at 4ldi

Hi Pooh, yes I can get to an 4ldi not too far from me. I've popped in from time to time and usually just get fruit/veg. I need to be brave and try some of their other stuff too. DS1 is so parky I fear I will waste my money buying stuff he wont eat . Xx

  • Mushy pea curry?? This a first on me!? Do you have a recipe and also for the onion bhajis

Ok, please remember this is a slimming world recipe so more fattening things could be added to make it even better!

    Mushy pea curry

    1 tin of mushy peas
    1 tin chopped tomatoes
    1 tin baked beans
Spices to your own taste - I use a mix of madras powder, medium curry powder, a fresh chilli and some cumin.

Mix all together (doesn't look brill at 1st I have to warn you!!) and heat in a pan for about 10 mins. Blend.

    This is your curry sauce.

In a separate pan cook the meat/veg you want in your curry. For DH I do chicken, mushrooms, onions and peppers. I have the same veg but with quorn pieces. Add the sauce and heat through. Serve with rice.

    Onion "Bhajis"

Again this is a slimming world recipe. It is more about saving the fat content than taste or money saving. If I wasn't dieting I'd buy ready made bhajis!!!

    2 eggs
    1 large onion
1 tin of chick pea dahl (Mr A's is best)
1 small pack of buttery or original flavour smash, dried straight from packet.

Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl. Roughly chop the onion and add to the egg mixture along with the other ingredients.

Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Use your hands or 2 spoons to form the mixture into balls. (They cook better if they are smaller rather than large bhajis). Place on the greaseproof paper.

Bake in the oven at 200* for about 10-15 mins. Leave to cool for 5 mins or so before serving.
