  • Agree with fudge. If fat club gives you something to focus on, then that's good. And considering all that you've been eating then a loss is brilliant!! :T

I think a bit of pampering every day is perfect! Whether it's a shower and/or hair wash, nail paint, face mask, bath, de-fuzz, cuppa, make-up, or whatever, just 10+mins out for YOU is what you should be doing! :)

Wallington Hall sounds fun, other than the spat between MIL and DH. I can see it from both sides equally, and can understand the frustration of theirs to an extent. But for something like that there's no need to be getting all het up. Just agree to disagree and move on!

Thinking about you today again Lucky. Your mind must be a turmoil of emotions. Let yourself feel the emotions. Cry or scream if you have to. Don't bottle it up. Write stuff down if you have to. And we're all here for you if you need us.

    Chin up pet :)

Like you say what a year, (or 2) you have had. Let's hope the next one is much better.

Sorry to hear about the MIL/DH spat, understand both sides but so silly to get het up about such a thing. However, good that MIL feels relaxed enough with him to get annoyed with him. Better than treating him with kid gloves all the time.

So sorry to hear you being so hard on yourself and your body re the babies. There is nothing you did or could have done to prevent this from happening. Sadly these things do happen, (quite often with multiples too :( ) and hopefully you will get the proper monitoring and advice to enable you to move on and have that lovely bundle of joy in your arms one day soon.

((((hugs)))) my dear, take each day as it comes

plmbl Huge hugs from me too. Sorry I have not been aroud the last couple of days. Had DS2 home and he hogs my laptop.

I agree with what has been said so far. You need to grieve, and it does sometimes come out at the most inopportune time but better out than in.

And I would only go to fat club if it made me feel better about myself. don't forget your body is still changing and repairing.

  • Cheers all :A

Been to Centre for Life today to see the Dinosaurs exhibit which was fantastic. The way they move etc is so real! We had 'free child entry' vouchers but it still ended up costing £30 as I paid for MIL too. She then paid for lunch though and we had a nice day altogether. MIL is dating again but she misses FIL very much and today is not only the 4th anniversary of the day he died but it should have been their wedding anniversary too :(. We have spent a lot of time with MIL this week but her gentleman friend is on holiday at the moment so I daresay we shall see a little less of her when he gets back than we have been doing.

Tonight I've had not only my sister but also my Mum and MIL over for a meal. Everyone behaved themselves and we had a lovely time! I just made a pasta dish followed by meringue nests, fruit and squirty cream, so cheap and easy and all good for my diet.

I've made a hair appointment for next Wednesday :T

  • Yesterday sounds fun :)

I'm sure MIL is glad of the time she's able to spend with your family, as it's obviously a difficult time of the year for her too. It's nice that she's making 'friends' again, and getting out and about. Life is too short!

Dinner sounds fun - glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
Our dinner last night nearly didn't happen! :p We were having duck. We'd worked out the night before how long it would take and what time to put it on etc etc. I peeled the spuds yesterday morning to save OH time. Got home at 5.45 and the oven was empty. He'd forgotten about it (even though he'd been home since 2pm?????) and then had the cheek to blame me for not texting him to remind him! I nearly hit the roof!! But anyway. Was VERY tasty (and later than planned!! lol) I would actually be tempted to order if I was out and about for dinner sometime too, it was that good!!

    Men!!!! :p

:j for the hair appointment :D

Hope you had a good sleep :)

  • sounds like a lovely day yesterday :) and your poor MIL, her husband died on their wedding anniversary? :( That must be a pretty strange day for her, thankfully she had a lovely family to spend the day with :)

So hairdressers next week? What are you having done :D xx

  • Oh dear HAW, it seems you had a glimpse of what it's like to have a forgetful DH!! Glad you enjoyed your meal eventually though.

DFW, yes he died on their anniversary :(. He had stomach cancer and the diagnosis was only months to live, but he managed just a week short of 2 years after that. At the end when he was very very ill and it was a case of 'any day now', I remember thinking, "please not the 28th". He almost made it to the 29th but he died late on the the 28th bless him.

As for hair, I'm pushing the boat out and having a trim and highlights! :j Can't wait! Calling it my birthday present to make me feel less guilty about having it done, but as I don't normally get a present it's slightly weird psychology to use :rotfl:.

    Hello Lucky, :hello:

Just popping in for a catch-up - seems like ages since I've had enough brain to join in.. :o

You're doing so well; sounds like the hormone storm is reducing and you're concentrating on making the most of the school holidays with your boys. :T

Poor MIL; their anniversary must be the most bitter-sweet day of the year for her - well done again for planning an outing which will have superimposed good memories on her poignant ones.. Well worth the spend. ;)

Don't see why you shouldn't give yourself a birthday present; enjoy being pampered with a new hair-do. :D
  • Thanks Robin! I have a major urge to go for something completely different in terms of style/colour of hair, but the fact is I need something easy to maintain so can't do anything too dramatic as I can't afford the upkeep!

I don't normally get a birthday present as my birthday is the day before DS1's and I'd rather spend the money we have on him not me. One day when we are better off there should be enough for both of us!! I do get presents or cash from my Mum/MIL/Sister etc though so I'm not hard done by! DH has an appointment for an EEG on my actual birthday so I'm getting my hair cut a week early :D. Any excuse, it's desperate!!

Today has so far turned into an 'at home day' as the boys are playing with friends in the garden. I've been doing some meal planning and DH is playing on the xbox. I'm enjoying the chill out if I'm honest as I've probably done too much the last few days. If I have my way it will continue for the rest of the day and be a NSD too but will see how it goes.

As a side note, just received the LTSB bill and £107.35 of the £160.79 I paid them last month has gone back on as interest :mad:. All my other debts are 0%, really need rid of this one!!!

Do you snowball your debts? How long are the others at 0%? I'd definitely look at getting shot of this one too, sounds like our BC :( they never gave up charging us and some months we were paying a few quid off only as they charged that much ! P.s I hope you manage your NSD :)
