Hi Lucky, :hello:
Hope you're feeling a bit better today!please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »Anyway, on to the good news!!! I entered DS1 into a Little Heroes competition for the time he called 999 just before Christmas when his Dad had a seizure. He's one of 10 finalists!!! He's already won a family meal at a Fayre and Square restaurant and a month's Wacky Warehouse pass, but if he wins overall he wins a £1k holiday :j:j I'm so proud!!! The next stage is a facebook vote for the 10 finalists, opening monday, and then the final 3 are then judged by Michelle Heaton for the overall winner. I've got everything crossed. DS1 is strutting like a peacock :rotfl:
Well done DS1!
..Lucky, you are going to have fun next week with FB; wonder if you'll be able to match DS' votes to your friends on here? (At least that will give you summat to do while resting, lol).
Am so ignorant that I had to look up Michelle Heaton.
Hmm; talent show background.
Is DS1 confident when talking to strangers, dressed up in front of cameras and Press? ..How long have you got to practise? (Well, he does deserve the free holiday, as do you all.).
Well done DH, too. I wonder if there are any courses on horticulture available locally? This could be a good time for him to prepare for a new career (while still on DLA, before Babe arrives).0 -
Thanks again everyone! I'll hopefully be able to post a link on Monday but alas Robin I don't think I'll be able to see everyone's votes or play 'Guess who'.
DH saw the Epileptologist today which in my opinion was a fantastic meeting. We were in there 45 minutes while he asked for a full history and we formulated a plan together. DH is going to have another CT scan, MRI scan and a scan on his neck to make sure the blood flow to his head is not restricted. They are leaving his meds as they are for now but can increase dosage twice more if any further seizures occur, and then there is another medication they can try after that (we are restricted to what DH can have though, as some medications alter mood or lower sodium, both of which are dangerous for DH).
DH asked what the chances are for him becoming seizure free and basically it's 50%. I saw that as quite good odds, DH saw that as very poor and has been a bit down since.
My Mum has invited the boys to stay over tonight :T Totally out of the blue as she has only had them once in the last 4 years or more, but the boys are excited to go. I'm at work so won't get full benefit of an evening off, but I will still have a full night's sleep and hopefully a lie in. MIL will babysit DH while I'm at work!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. PS, Robin I'm hoping the fact that Michelle Heaton is a Geordie might also swing in DS1's favour :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hear! Hear!
I would agree with you on thinking that 50% is good odds. Hope DH comes round to a more positive way of thinking v soon.
:j to mum!! Hope you got to make the most of the kid-free house!

The competition hasn't been opened yet!! As soon as it is I will post the link.
I had a fairly good night's sleep while the boys were at my Mum's, just the usual wakings for toilet trips etc!! DH woke me up at 6.30am when he woke up but I told him there was no way I was getting up then and I went back to sleep while he played xbox! He then woke me again at 8am with breakfast in bed which whilst the thought was lovely, more sleep would have been better!! We then cut the hedges and tidied the front garden until Mum brought the boys back at about 12.
In the afternoon I felt very down and miserable but I still don't know why. I posted on the 'Less than 12 week pregnant thread' and I was comforted to hear that another Mum-to-be due the same day I am was feeling the same. Assume it's just hormones then.
We made it to today with £1.57 left in the bank. Really pleased to have made it through last week without too many problems. Got my carers allowance this morning and took the boys to softplay to meet some friends. I was a bit worried about DS2 with his arm but he managed very well and we purposely went first thing in the morning so it wasn't busy and he didn't get barged about.
Came home to make the boy's lunches and one of DS1's friends has just knocked on the door to play. Guess that's the afternoon sorted then!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
