plmbl Our road tax was only £118.50 for 6 months on a huge diesel guzzling pickup. It sounds extortionate for a car.
I haven't been around much recently so I am pleased to hear you are feeling a lot better.
Your idea of buying the rhodedendrones sounds lovely. We have two which we bought just before my mum passed away and they always remind me of her. They were decimated when some sheep got into the garden but she would have found it funny. I am trying to coax them back to full strength.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I just googled my car tax band but it seems correct
I was hoping that it was some huge mistake but no such luck!
Good luck with the rhododendrons Pooh! Naughty sheep :rotfl:.
I've had a nice day today despite the weather! Both boys at school/playgroup so DH and I went to the metro centre to exchange some swimming shorts I bought for DS1 in Primarni last week. He is 8, nearly 9, so I thought I'd done the right thing getting age 9-10. They were tiny!! I've ended up changing them for 12-13 years  Anyway, while we were shopping DH convinced me to look in the New L00k sale and.....wait for it..... I got myself 3 new tops :j:eek::T. One of them I'm absolutely in love with, reduced from £40 to £10The others were £8 and £4 so 3 new tops for a total of £22!!
This afternoon we have given our room a second coat of paint and it's looking fab. I also cleared out a cupboard in DS2's room with was full of baby stuff and boxes for his christening ornaments/money boxes etc and it's all bagged up ready for the loft. I ran out of time to refill the cupboard with his [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] toys but his room will hopefully look a bit neater when I do.
Really looking forward to our little caravan holiday on Monday too. Hope the weather improves though!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

DH had more seizures last night
. He was fully clothed in the bathroom at 9pm when the first occurred and he fell into the (empty) bath. DS1 and I heard the almighty crash from downstairs and went running (DS2 was in bed). The first seizure was over in about 5 minutes and he started to come round quickly so I thought at that point my only problem was getting him out of the bath (plus his legs were wet as he'd been kicking the taps on during the seizure!).
Unfortunately though, he went into a second seizure and it was even more violent than usual. I called 999 and they were here within 8 mins but the seizure was still continuing and even the paramedics said it was violent and lasting a long time. When DH eventually stopped fitting he became lucid quite quickly (which was different from last time), but he couldn't use the whole left hand side of his body . This called for him being lifted out of the bath, strapped to the ambulance chair to get downstairs and a rapid blues and twos journey to the hospital! MIL came round to stay with the boys at home.
Thankfully the hospital staff were pre alerted and we went straight to resus, at which point even more thankfully DH regained the use of his arm and the rest followed fairly soon after. They still kept him in for a good few hours to check he was ok. (Honestly, the sights you see in A&E on a Saturday night of a bank holiday weekend, after an EDL protest in the city are NOT pretty! Bless those angel nurses!).
So, having got home approaching 3am and getting DH settled in bed, I managed less than 2 hours sleep before DS2 helpfully woke up for the day at 5.30am. I then found the cat had been sick. Twice. So had to clear that up too. I'm exhausted and tearful and I'm supposed to be working this afternoon. I'm jittery through lack of sleep and I haven't even started packing for going away Monday never mind thought about if it's even a good idea to go. Today is not gonna be my day. I need a cuddle. And lots of caffeine.

Oh PLMBL. Sorry to hear about DH. Glad he regained feeling though. Sounds like you had very prompt and efficient treatment. Hope DH is okay today although I would think he would be a bit sore from having the seizure in such a confined space. Hugs to you as it is awful having to watch that and know there is nothing you can do.
My mum used to work in x ray in a busy a&e and she used to see some right states on a weekend. She works in a smaller hospital now so doesn't see quite as much. I have so much respect for the staff that work those shifts and I am glad you had a positive experience (especially as you would have preferred not having the experience in the first place)

Oh hunny
I think you handle everything so well. I hope dh is feeling better very soon and how far is your holiday? Is it near a hospital, do seizures normally happen closely together (I'm sorry I've no experience) I'm sure a holiday would be lovely so long as you have peace of mind that you can get help quickly if you need it? If I'm talking utter rubbish sorry what I can do is send some hugs:grouphug: and some virtual :coffee: I hope today picks up for you xxxxxx

Oh dear, Be Lucky, that sounds like one helluva night you've just had.
But glad to hear DH was seen quickly despite the goings on in the Toon (heard about that too). Have the Docs written up DH's latest episode as epilepsy again?
Holiday? Well, you know the guidelines and you know DH (how often has he fitted again soon after an attack?). You know where the caravan is (with regard to hospital access). You and DS1 are very capable when first aid is needed and you're used to managing day to day care. Your whole family would benefit from having a break.
Against that; would you have to go to a different hospital should the need arise while you're at the caravan? Would DH - and DS1 and you - be nervous at being away from home? Is DS2 the kind of child who [STRIKE]plays up[/STRIKE] gets upset when their routine is changed?
It's very encouraging that DH was allowed to come home despite losing sensation after the second fit. If he's ok today, I don't think I'd cancel the holiday unless the caravan is in a very remote spot. It's too easy to miss out on life when you're coping with a chronic health problem; I believe it's better to make wonderful memories when the chance comes your way.
ps. Well done on the Rhodies - thought you'd find something special and they sound gorgeous.
pps. Cat sick - gross! Have another (((hug))) and congratulations for dealing with it, with your usual aplomb. :T0 -
Oh honey I'm so sorry, sending you hugs.0

Thank you so much for all the lovely messages and hugs :A.
DH is a bit slow and extremely tired but otherwise ok. He's spent much of the day lying down/napping which is good for him. His black eye hasn't developed much further yet so he doesn't look bad but he is understandably upset and down that it has happened.
I'm really flagging and looking forward to bed! I literally haven't stopped all day because when I did sit down I felt in danger of nodding off which isn't good when you are in charge of children and a poorly husband. DS2 and I have made a banana cake and chocolate muffins, I've done no less than 5 loads of washing (ironing still to do boo!), tidied and entertained visitors. The bath needed a good scrub thanks to the paramedics dirty feet too!
We are still planning on going tomorrow. It's only an hour and a half away and there is a local hospital, but the Newcastle RVI is still the closest big hospital. There is 'normally' (I use the term loosely as we still don't have a normal where the seizures are concerned) a couple of months between major episodes so we have everything crossed we will not have to deal with it again while we are away. I think we could do with some fun times as Robin says.
We can't book in until 3pm tomorrow so planning a lazyish morning which right now sounds like bliss.
Hope everyone is well XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
