Happy diary anniversary! Hope hubby is ok.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes and get wells for DH.
He has come back downstairs but is dozing on the sofa so I think I will usher him back up soon. I will go to bed too as the worst scenario is a 'missed' seizure that I don't know about and therefore goes without the increased meds. I'd like to think I would be able to tell by the after effects however, but you just don't know. Right now he seems a little slow and his face keeps contorting which means panic, but otherwise he is ok thankfully. Xx

    Happy Diary Anniversary B.Lucky! :D

Haven't you been given extra/different meds to ward off a seizure when DH experiences warning symptoms?

..Hope it came to nothing this evening, and you're both getting a good night's kip.

Happy anniversary PLMBL  Its been a wonderful diary :T
  • Aw thank you stripes, what a nice thing to say!

Robin, DH has been fine thank goodness. He slept well and there are no warning signs present today. He has an appointment with his GP tomorrow and one of the reasons I made it was to find out if he can have tests to check his medication levels on a regular basis (my thoughts are that the seizures happen approx every three months because his body gets use to the prescribed dose of meds). I also intend to ask if there are any seperate meds he can take if he feels a seizure is likely as, in answer to your question, no he doesn't have anything like that at the moment.

DS2 is at playgroup full day today. Bless him he looked so cute carrying his little packed lunch (dressed in a skeleton costume :rotfl:).

Delighted to hear that you had an uneventful night! :D

Yes, good idea to push for regular blood tests and emergency meds at home (after DS was discharged we were given 'em without asking, because the Docs were worried that we lived too far from hospital - which doesn't apply to you - but worth a question anyway as you want to avoid an admission if possible).
Rescue Remedy can be invaluable for warding off feelings of panic - but read up on it yourself [if it's not already an essential part of your first aid kit ;)], and most important; check with Docs that RR is compatible with DH's meds.

Aww; another milestone - bet DS2 looks gorgeous in his cossie! (Are all the kids dressed up today?). :)

Thanks Robin, I shall look into that.

Erm no, just DS2 :o. He is a real costume fan and has masses of them passed down from Ds1 and various cousins etc. Yesterday he was Thor. He has already suggested he may be Captain America tomorrow!! It makes me wonder why I bother dressing him nicely each morning, he always covers up with a costume within minutes!
