Who I contact regarding wrong time on meter?

Speaking as a meter reader I can tell you we are not "supposed " to spot all the incorrect timers on all the meters. We are not trained at all in that. I personally have taken upon myself to check the timers and was very surprised to find how many of the old mechanical type timers were a country mile out, it was rare to find one correct. I reported them at one time but the Utilities did absolutely nothing about it ( as usual) so I ve given up bothering. I tell the cusomers if I get chance, most are happy to find they are gaining by getting the cheap rate skewed into a more reasonable time for showers, dryers etc.Night storage meters are rare nowadays, and they would be the losers proberbly.I dont know of many meter readers who have any idea at all about the function of timers on the meters as it would be taxing their brains too much! I think the Utilities are losing untold millions by all these messed up timers, along with the transposed eco 7 meters, they are hopeless.0

There are no Site Visit Check Codes or Meter Reading Reason Codes for incorrect timeswitch times. All a reader can do is notify his Data Collector who can inform the supplier via a specific data flow.
However, there are so many set ups out there that meter readers would struggle.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Just nipped out and checked the time on my meter - only a couple of years old and a digital one to find it's reading 06.40 instead of 07.30 - it's in my favour - yeehah! Put that washing on again girl.......0

Oh Boo.....get that washing out! But hang on - I'm on economy7 & and on BST that's till 07.30? How does that work then?0

If your meter is set for e7 between 12.30 and 7.30 am, (GMT), your current clock allows you e7 between the "realtime" BST hours of 1.40 and 8.40 am.0

Ta! That's good news for me then! I do put stuff like the washing machine on early morning and also hairdryers and sometimes the dishwasher too. I shall write those times down and alter them by an hour in the winter.0

It's only 10 minutes out. The time on the meter is normal UK winter time. We are currently in summer time 1 hour ahead of winter time. The meter does not follow summer and winter time changes. It just stays in winter time all the time.
If you have a tele-switch the times stay the same.
Here in the East Midlands it is 01.00 - 08.00 all year round. - Frequently checked by me, ex metering department East Midland Electricity Board0 -
Now completely confused...........my meter is reading 50 mins earlier than the real BST time - what time should I have my big appliances off by? I've no idea if it's a tele-switch meter, but I assume it must be?0

If your e7 hours are the ones you reported, (#16) then you currently have the real time period mentioned in #17.0
