I have to admit, I have dropped a few MF jobs lately and stated the reason as fee too low on the drop down, if I lose points then hey ho they don't seem to mean anything anyway. I'd also tell any other company the fee was too low if it was my reason for dropping it too but that's only happened as I've become more experienced I didn't at first coz I was too scared I'd lose work.0 -
Did a GAP petrol shop the other day. After I had submitted the assignment about 2 days later I got a come back asking specific answers to a question that (a) was not on the questionnaire and (b) was not alluded to anywhere on the paperwork. Anyone else had this?

If the fee is too low, why do you take it in the first place in order for you to drop it later?0 -

It was easy to answer, as I said, the person in question did not go missing until the day AFTER my shop!0 -

A little someone on here told me to tell Assosia their fee was too low for a job and they just dumped me full stop. I am no longer on their books, so be warned, it's not always best to say YOUR FEE IS TOO LOW AND I AM NOT DOING IT! Assosia is not all that to work for, but I did like the 50 packs of chocolate puddings I once got from them with one of their jobs. Boohoo.
PS. I applied for this job because it said it was a simple audit which would not take too long. When I got the paperwork it was rather confusing and would take about 3 hours to do!0 -
Although I occasionally take lower paid jobs, I will not revolve my life around them. Too often, the lower paid jobs what you to jump through extra hoops and have to be done within a very short timescale.
A company that I work for used to give mileage and parking. I would accept a group of jobs and then find other work to fit in with it. Now they don't pay mileage or parking. Recently I had a conversation with the allocater because she wanted to know why I have rescheduled jobs recently when I have never done this before. I was honest and explained that as the jobs are low fees with no expenses the jobs have to fit in with other better paying work to make it worthwhile. If the better paid company changes the days then I have to fit in with this. I think she took it on board, though I don't think things will change.
When keying in reports, I always enter the ones with the highest fees first. I think companies who are paying a decent fee should get something back for this. Although I often find its the better paying companies which will give you a day or two to fill in the reports.
I also agree that a £100 report will be much more detailed than a £5 report. After all, what are they getting for the £100 if the reports are of similar detail. I don't want the £100 company to lower their fees to £5 or I'll have to find a proper job!
What is the saying about pay in peanuts and get monkeys :rotfl:0 -

Because if I'm not quick then someone else grabs it so I pick them up and choose what I want and if it fits in with my better paid calls. If it doesn't I drop it later, haven't got time to think with MF I'm afraid. They always find someone else to pick them up anyway.0 -
