Are the GR sofas the live slappers or something else?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

    This.

I had assigned myself jobs, therefore I got an email. Very fishy...

Whereas I got the first email notifying about the jobs....didn't apply as I was too busy at the time -and got the second email.

    So not fishy

Yep absolutely Peas and Carrots should be a business expense if you don't like vegetables and Desserts should be personal as everyone likes them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry doesn't work like that ...........

So a meal is either all business, or all personal and , if you are going to claim a reimbursed meal as a business expense then you have to argue that any personal benefit was purely incidental.

Without any other factors the counter argument would be that you're using the reimbursement to get a cheap meal and therefore the benefit is 100% personal.

I disagree. I had to purchase a meal and that is a legitimate business expense. If I did not have to purchase a second meal perhaps that is not. I don't see why it can't be split. HRMC have confirmed this is ok for Broadband, mobile bill etc.

They are usually the sofa shops where the sale ends on Monday , you pay nothing for the first year, etc.

Only if you are getting paid for the job, if it is a reimbursement only job the payment is a free meal so not allowable.

Second paragraph of "The General Rule" explicitly says you can't do it, either food/accommodation is for personal use or it is for business use there is no split/middle ground.

  • Anyone else having silly GR emails

I get emails saying new jobs with nothing there and nothing in the 'gone' section

then when i do see jobs, don't get an email about them

Looked this morning and there were two in the 'gone' section, but no email

being going on two weeks now and it's bugging me
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

Not sure how "nothing there and nothing in the 'gone' section" works but I know that it takes about an hour from the job going up to the email going out. So if the job goes up and it's taken within an hour there will be no email.
  • GR has been dead for me for weeks. Did an agency bank last week and I think that was the only thing to have shown up in over a month. Time to rejiggle my postcodes, I think!
