You lot are bad. I'm trying to work here but keep laughing out loud with the posts and such like.
Having said that, I can see what will happen next. It will be goodbye to the MS thread. This is what happened to the Boots one too. Can't people argue on Twitter or Facebook or something? Nice knowing you all.0 -

On a shopping note, can anyone see if the call needs to be recorded for mystery shoppers or am I just blind.
No recording required. I have done 2 of these before, no hassle, less than 10 minutes to do call and report.
PUTS RA TO SHAME.
...and the last time the fee was in the bank 4 days after the call.0 -

I went to one of these a few years ago, but didn't asking about MS.
Please do post back with information as I'd like to be sure of the best way of going about this!

Love doing work for this company, almost to the point I'd consider taking the test, and I probably would if I wasnt planning to row back on the MS work for the next while. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Lil_Me see the link I posted above (and there are a couple of links within the page). In terms of meals/accommodation position is clear the costs are either business related or they are subsistence (and not allowable) there is no middle ground, so you can claim all or nothing (which is a different discussion).
My view on the rest of the point is that it is 'risky' you are specifying that part of your reimbursement you are getting a full 'personal benefit' and have declared it as non-taxable, in the event that you were ever investigated you are slightly on the back foot as to the rest of the purchase giving on an 'incidental' personal benefit and therefore being allowable.
One example doing a TNS large supermarket, do you make a separate visit and buy upto the reimbursement £x, or would you go and do a weekly shop and use the reimbursement £x as a discount on your shop...... both were required for the job, but much more difficult in version 2 to argue that the personal benefit is only incidental (and therefore an allowable expense)
See I wouldn't say that link was really related. That's more to do with travelling on business. The link basically says that if you're away from home (say for a meeting the next morning the other side of the country) and you eat out you can't say "Well if I was at home a typical meal would have cost me £3, and since I have to pay £10 to eat out as I'm not at home I'll claim £7 as an expense". Reality is that you could probably eat somewhere cheaper so it's personal choice to eat somewhere that charges £10 instead of £3.
I see what you're saying about it though. Although the way around it would be that I order my starter, main and drink coming to £30. Pay that and submit the receipt as an allowable expense. Then order and pay £5 for my dessert separately. However I would then argue that it's a little suspicious and that would not be good for my business0 -
From the bits and bobs I've read, I've personally found this thread quite entertaining. As long as no one's really getting insulted, apologies are given when needed and theres a balance of off and on topic posts, isn't that alright?
Now for an 'on-topic' post
I'm not sure where everyone's based, but I'm in London and apart from MF there's nothing available. Can anyone recommend me some MS companies that have MS visits around London?0 -

I think the thread generally seems ok too, makes me chuckle from time to time. There is the odd tarts and drama queens (I can be either of these on my worst days lol) on here but most websites seem to get them nowadays!0

haha maybe
It's just that I read how many trips everyone's doing and it really inspires me to get off my tush and join lots of companies and search for visits daily but nothing ever comes up anywhere remotely near me (apart from MF like I said). Maybe I need to move!0 -
