Has anyone done the health shops for RE? Be prepared for awkwardness. Did 2 today, and both times managers rushed over at the end after I handed the letter over. One kept shaking my hand and all the customers were looking at me. Only do them if they are not in your immediate area as I doubt you will ever be able to do them again.
  • Thank you for that I read the health ones a few times then decided no as they were too local and you have just confirmed my worries :)

You are welcome. It's lovely to see mos's especially management pouting and being awkward and ignoring you, and then all of a sudden being super nice and shaking hands etc.

I can remember doing these "make yourself known at the end" visits for TNS back in the day for a spicy electrical store. Oh those were the days when they tried to up sell you the whole store at the end and I would be like "I don't think so, a bit too late".

They might not block you from doing the stores again for good, but I do think they would not let you visit the store for a good few months.
  • Also like the first jobs I ever did for gap at the chicken place when you ask for a receipt oh my don't they have a personality transformation :rotfl:

I was a little mean the other day as I was not on a MS with the kids at the said chicken place and the service was all wrong,he was rude and arrogant so at the end I said with a smile can I have a receipt he could not carry our food over for us quick enough and clean up a table he he and get the kids colouring pages and crayons ;) cheeky but was worth it.

Hmm, just accepted a non-petrol shop for a petrol station at one MS company, and one for a little supermarket at another MS company. Both of them are in fact the same shop! Would it be wrong to do one shop/purchase that covered both questionnaires and claim for both with the same receipt..?

Maybe but I would do it and have done in the past. As long as you cover both scenarios during the visit then who's to know

    agreed

as long as no conflicting details in the briefs like i think there were when a camera shop appeared on two companies then its ok

as for claiming mileage twice... from the companies yes if they pay it, for tax i think thats a no

I've three or four car visits that overlap, same scenario but two different MSC's for two clients, it's gonna be pretty easy to use the same info for both companies.

I agree with HeavensDevil, the reports are a pain and take ages to do as it refreshes after every page. I also found that with one building society they seem to credit score you even when you've said that you've just come in for a leaflet.

This happened to me in two different branches. As I'd given fake details (as per the brief) it make it very awkward. In a third branch, the staff member checked the electoral role (without asking) and announced that I did not live there. Again, very embarassing. And if I'd been a genuine customer I would not have been happy either as I was not applying for an account, just asking for some information.

Oh my! If I'm allowed to ask, is that the building society which belongs to a northern county? Because I was offered one of those last week but declined due to my aforementioned unwillingness to do more blooming work than necessary :p If so, boy am I glad I declined, regardless of any gosh-danged report

Thanks for your replies! I got my first payment from RA this morning so hopefully I'll see some more before the end of the month.
