I remember you and tractorwench going on about this all the time, but I could never understand your point.
225,099 views does not mean there are 225,099 users. And with 1208 posts, that's roughly 180 views for each post. Which to me sounds really low. Either there's only 180 shoppers on here, or most people aren't bothering with the alerts.
And out of 180 views, I'd say 140+ people would find the alert useless, 20 or 30 forget to say thanks, or haven't got time. And 10 or 20 will remember to say thanks. that leaves roughly only 10 - 20 who just aren't bothered about thanking people. So it's not all that bad.
And in all honesty, who cares? Demanding thanks is just attention seeking. The real 'thanks' comes through others appreciating your effort and posting other alerts that'll hopefully, in turn, help you. There's the thanks you want, not some daft bunch of figures underneath your username.
Have a good weekend all. Hope you're as busy as I'll be.0 -

Ha ha ha how did I know you would pop up in this topic. I was thinking while I was writing a bet DP will have a comment.
OK, based on 180 views per post. Remove 40 views for people looking that don't realise what the alerts thread is.
140 people left. Of those 140, your telling me all but a spare few foget/don't find usefull etc etc
Na, people use the thread for their advantage but don't give back. The majority of users will take advantage of the information given but not return the favour. I think your one of those people are you not?
Anyway, I haven't had enough cafinee to statistically anyalyse this furtherI get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

yes if you reg make money it should be declared it is tax avoidance if not,... Im sure valued opinions have info that you are responsible for declaring your own earnings etc

I have deleted the post. I will repost it elsewhere. What is regular money. Is money from survey sites all taxable. I only get an odd pound here and there. What about cash back from quidco and other cash back sites. Is it just cash or other free stuff. I get free samples are they taxable. Thanks0 -

Alright. Stop, collaborate and listen.
I've said it before, and I don't care what people think. I read the alerts and then leave. I used to post alerts myself to return the favour, but sharp got sick of people moaning about re-posts, or alerts being too genre/regionally specific etc. And then the complaints about people not contributing come up, but is it any wonder? There's an army of people who wont post because they're scared of the abuse that'll be heaped upon them from the old timers if they make a mistake. Will it ever stop? Yo, I don't know.
I can remember putting an alert up one time. I checked to make sure it hadn't already been posted, and it hadn't, so I went ahead and submitted it. Then when I checked back, someone else had posted the same alert at the exact same time, so they both came up together. And people went mad, moaning about unnecessary double posts etc. That's when I gave up 'Alerting' I think. Leave it to the self proclaimed experts.
But to be honest, I find 90% of the alerts totally useless anyway. Now check out the hook while my DJ revolves it.
And speaking of coffee. I did an egg travel agent the other week, and had the best cuppa ever out of a machine. I must get the name of the brand they use there, it's lush!!
Peace out. Word to yo' mother,0 -

Your post was OK just not the clients name, which shouldn't try be posted anywhere if you read your confidentiality agreement. Value ed d opinions will also answer any questions regarding the brief, but if you really don't get it, don't do it.0 -
OMG. Sorry. I didn't know asking folk to hit the "thanks" button was a wrong thing to do (and I didn't mean just mine, all the others too). I'm really sorry it annoyed you so much "money savings my name", please feel free to block me so you don't have to read any more of my uncomfortable posts with my "diva like demands". But thanks so much for taking the time to post and telling me how you feel. I really do appreciate it, honest. I hope you don't mind "money savings my name" but I am going to alert one last time, forgive me if I upset you again!
Oh and thanks DPJames. Your tip about Caribbean Twist as the alcoholic beverage from the GR slapper works a treat. Got 3 already! So much better than spending £10 on a bottle of wine.0 -

Mimi please keep doing your alerts. The world of MS would be a sadder and in my case less profitable place without them <hopes she remembered to use the thanks button>0
