Rover 75 on a BMW engine

Can anyone shed any light on the general reliability of a Rover 75-this one is with a BMW engine apparently. Basically I've spotted a clean low mileage one locally-not normally a car that I would consider but it does look nice. 2001 plate/80k/service history I'm sure I've read somewhere issues on these regards head gaskets…

I'd echo what others have said - parts aren't really a problem.

Back to the OP - the 2.0 KV6 petrol (which is what it is) does not suffer head gasket failure like the k-series does so its ok on that front.

The ridiculous cost comes when the cambelt needs changing, its £400+!! If its just been done you could buy the car and run it into the ground but if it needs doing soon leave it alone. It'll be thirsty too.
