There's nothing wrong with letting your feminine side show a little
And wow! You've already been looking at lots of pictures. I think the floor in the Second Nature kitchen with the three stools looks good. You could combine that with a slightly purply splashback like the one top right - maintain your masculinity - and get a warm feel to the room!
I think if you just use bright glass for the splashback, then you could always change it in future years, if you get fed up with it.I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0 -

Go to a glazing company tho, as they generally can do a bespoke glass splash back in any BS paint colour for the best value.
There is an element of certain colours will date your kitchen but you can get glass repainted or choose white or pale colours...
Yes, I can see the attraction - and I will consider a glass splashback myself. What's also put me off a bit though is planning for the cutouts for sockets etc (which is a bit silly I know as specialist suppliers will deal with this...)
(How can they be repainted? the paint is on the reverse??)0 -

The floor in that second nature kitchen looks like it has wood where the stools are and something else (tiles perhaps) in the main part of the kitchen. I think I am likely to go with wood for the whole thing. The more I look at the grey top in that picture the more I coming around to liking it. Originally I hated the idea of grey. Ah, I am not really getting anywhere0 -
op - Majjie knows her stuff, listen!
We have had 4 kitchens (2 for personal, 2 for friends) from https://www.diy-kitchens.co.uk. Its mostly second nature and good quality rigid units. have a look. very good prices and if you go for the service where everything is predrilled and hung then fitting its a doddle.0 -

That's true. I didn't notice that when I first looked. Grey is very trendy. It's always best to choose something you really like, though, trendy or not ... then you're less likely to get tired of it. And I think your ideas do change - the longer you look ...
@Namecheck
When I mentioned splashback - I meant just behind the hob (and maybe the sink) - with perhaps worktop upstands elsewhere. If you go the whole hog with cut outs for the sockets - it gets a bit pricey.
And thank you kindly tpt!I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0 -
I was just reading your thread and I am thinking of getting a Sheraton/Omega kitchen. Did you get one and if so what did you think of it??0
