Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 14th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you havet o though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hubby's on earlies today, just waiting for the kettle to boil then it's a cooked breakfast for him & then I'll drop him off at work.
He'll need to scrape the car when he gets up as it's icy, brrr.
I've made him spag bol for lunch & we'll have lamb chops for tea.
I have some prem baby clothes that I've knitted, ready to take in to work to help our knitting group.
Kettles boiled.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester and all to follow.

Very chilly start here too, nearly back to normal today - DD back at college. As soon as she leaves am off out with OH to drop off a lorry. He is a lot better today, hopefully he won't overdo it.

No idea what time I will get home so no real plans have been made, but hopefully will get home at a reasonable time so I can try and clear the ironing basket.

Dinner will be something quick and easy, probably egg and chips.

    Have a great day all.x

Hi there bright but very frosty here this morning. Jack has been walked and breakfast eaten so off to school in a minute. Will no doubt be back to full stress levels by lunchtime so holiday calmness will have gone.
Curry tonight, DH will make it as he's had no luck getting a job after 2 years we've decided he might as well retire, he's 60 in July. So now he will do the household chores while I continue to work. We've downsized to one car to try and save a bit as it was silly his sitting there most days not being used.
Hugs to all who need them hope your OH is OK today EG.
Have a good day all especially the mums whose little ones are back to school- enjoy the peace:j

    Morning everyone :)

No peace for me, kids don't go back to school til next week, they didn't break up until the day before good Friday. Weather forecast is dire for this week so I think it's going to be a looooooong week
Still we have sunshine and frost today so can't grumble at that :D
Dog walked, kids need to Be showered but most important thing is I need my first coffee :rotfl:
Have a friend and her baby coming for coffee. Just for the friend of course ;) afternoon will probably be spent walking round local lake with the dog.

Not sure what's for tea, needed to rewrite menu plans, that's another job for today.

Bes get a move on. Hugs and spoons all round xx

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright sunny but chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early.

Weekend has been lovely, spent Saturday shopping with my friend, had lunch out, we chose 2 meals for £6.49 - so reasonably OS, didn't spend that much either just got what I wanted and didn't get tempted into anything else. Had a lovely day yesterday it was dad's birthday and we went out for lunch, restaurant is only 5-10mins away from our house so very nice not to have a long ride and food was excellent, we've never been there before but mum and dad had, lots of people recommended it and they were right.

Back to work today for me, don't really want to go but I'll be fine once I get there! Dinner tonight will be pork chops, mash, veg and gravy. I have to stop off at the garage tonight and get new tyres on my car, it goes for service and MOT tomorrow after work and I know tyres won't pass the MOT - thought I'd get tyres changed as garage may not be able to get the sort of tyres I want at the price I want, I don't want it to fail MOT just because of the tyres.

Have got a few items put on ebay, they are not generating much interest at the moment but they're on for a several more days yet, so fingers crossed.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x
