the problem with the DVLA is that just because they receive post doesnt mean it gets to the correct department. I've had a couple of incidents where they "didnt receive" my V5 that i sent when i sold cars. They got as far as issuing court proceedings before i got them to agree that i was in the right.

there has been a freedom of infomation request done asking how much post they lose - they admitted they have no idea! this was then used succesfully in court against them and the judge threw out the case.

Now the problem you will have is in getting them to re-instate his licence as all the cases that i know about have just been them trying to fine people for not informing them of change of keeper/sorn etc

I'd suggest phoning them in the morning and then sending them a COPY of the tracking details stating you have sent it in and it is not your fault that they cannot get their own internal post system in order.

It the standard application pack for a driving licence

You can pick one up at the post office or order one online

Those Satnavs are frequently wrong. On one stretch of 60MPH near me, it tells me the speed limit is 60 then 30 then 60 then 40 then 60 which is what there was when temporary speed limits were introduced in 2003 and lifted in 2005 whilst a new gas pipeline was being laid and a road bridge over a railway was being repaired.

The only thing that counts is the speed limit on the sign, not what the prat nav says.
  • Using a sat nav as a defence of his error or blaming the device for incorrect driving is not going to work . Best and safest method is stick to the speed limits and observe the road signs .
I to have a sat nav Tomtom new one doesn't matter how many times i up date it keeps saying spec cameras ahead on this particular road . Those spec cameras were removed nearly 8 months ago ?
