To be honest, after not driving for so long I dont think people should be allowed back on the road without refresher lessons.

I have an Aunt that has had a license for 40 years and hasnt driven at all in that time, it scares the hell out of me thinking that she could go a buy a range rover or something stupid like that and drive around not having a clue..

    how would you enforce it?
being the registered keeper of a vehicle doesnt make you the driver.
sae as not owning a ca,doesnt mean you arent driving

10mph speed limits simply do not exist on public roads. As far as I'm aware, there isn't even any legislation that allows them! (Can anyone confirm/deny this?)

If I'm right then this makes it interesting when supermarkets etc. put up 10mph and 5mph signs. RTA applies to supermarket car parks but technically these signs should be unenforceable, leaving whatever speed limit was on the main road (could be a 70 for some supermarkets) as the effective speed limit for the car park.

Make people give license number when getting insurance, would also cut down the amount of people that lie about not having points on their license etc.

Though this is the first time I'm driving after 5 years of passing, and I forgot some of the basic rules, also the nervousness has made me miss some of the one way traffic signs.

I vaguely rememebr being flashed once, but not sure if it was me or someone else.

Check here: UK Speed Camera Database. Check to see if you have been caught speeding

So happy to get it through the post. Even though I've been driivng for 3 weeks, to have a piece of paper with you name on saying you're the registered keeper makes it so official!!

The yellow criss cross (no stopping) box on more than one occasion, and I'm not sure if I have racked up a fine for that.

I'm not sure if you get fined for going down a one way, but if you do then I may have got a ticket (we got CCTV like crazy around here).

You seriously need to take driving lessons again. That is poor beyond belief and well below the standards expected of even a learner.
