Vauxhalls website says the following about the warranty
    Lifetime!
Vauxhall provides a unique Lifetime Warranty, available to the first owner for an unlimited time and a maximum of 100,000 miles. The lifetime warranty is dependent on an annual vehicle check at an Vauxhall Authorised Repairer who will activate the warranty extension for another year.

And Autotrader says the following about pre reg

When I had a vauxhall I found the dealerships extremely reluctant to look at things under Warranty.

This also runs on cars up to a year old and below a certain milage.

So could be applied to the pre reg as long as it met the criteria.
  • Is there no other garage you could buy a car off than Arnold Clark? They are not great to deal with, plus don't give a flying one if your car goes wrong.

    Agree with Joel.

Vauxhall changed the T&C's to include certain pre-reg cars sold under Network Q to include the lifetime/infinity warranty.

As I read it, the lifetime warranty doesn't apply as the car is now second-hand.
Important thing to note with an AC salesman, especially the new breed from the academy, is that whatever they say will be deniable and probably the opposite of the truth.
Plenty more dealers around and just a pity the AC group spend so much on advertising or the volume of complaints would choke "The Judge".

Heard back today via email from Vauxhall.
Pre-reged cars under 200 miles sold after October 11 do come with Lifetime Warranty.

Saving about £4000 on new price, should last me 10 years,if I live that long.

Print that email and keep it with your car paperwork like V5 and service book etc! You will probably need to refer back to it with Vauxhall....

I'd be looking to take at least £4k off list price on a brand new vauxhall and more like £8k on the bigger ones. (seriously, the list prices are cuckoo).

More room for haggling there i'd think unless its an absolutely base spec corsa

edit : oops, just seen you were after an astra, brokers offering £3-6k off list on new ones depending on spec
  • You'll rarely find a pre-reg at with AC that can't be matched or beaten online for a brand new first owner car. They pre-reg them as it allows them to get the car for less...it also wipes out the manufacturer subsidised finance deals (0% on vx). They then try to sell you their 6.5% FLAT RATE finance, which makes them an absolute shed load!!! It amazes me that people would buy a car from these cowboys.
  • Vauxhall offer of life time warranty also includes 100,000 miles of cover regarding if car has any issues and this offer is for first registered owner of the car only. ....... Think.
They not stupid "VAUXHALL " majority of the owners will keep their cars for around 4/5 years no 100,000 miles on clock either.
Misleading crap by vauxhall just like their cars ...,

Not much of a deal is it .
