So I don't know about everyone else but I'm assuming the first lot of candidates the merit list have been placed? Or at least they are near the end of that list?

Me and a couple of my friends have had interviews for the EOII posts over the last couple of weeks. Just wondering does anyone know when the next merit list will be created and when we will hear a little more about the results of our interviews?

Ae they going to advertise again in march 2013 then? I am interested in HMRC doing vat inspection is that the same sort of grade, or how do you get into that sort of work?

Hi,

I just received my EOII appointment today for the child maintenance and enforcement department due to begin in January. The hours are 12-8pm Monday to Friday and 1 Saturday in 4. I've heard it's not the best department to work in and am not attracted by the working hours compared to what I have at the moment. Just wondering had anybody any advice on the child maintenance department and what it's like? Thanks.

Some people love it, others hate it, but I have also heard it is the best place to be to get promoted.

Not sure I would say it's the best place to be to get promoted, but due to the number of staff (and therefore posts), it certainly may have a higher possibility of progression than some of the smaller departments.
Agree with the first part though...it does seem to be a marmite job.
