Thats what happened me anyway Jenny. The payscales are pointless if this is the way they work them.0

I am still on the bottom of the EOII payscale after 4 years in post - there are AO's in my office earning more than me - one who was promoted went on to a higher payscale than most of the rest of us - some who had been EOIIs much longer than me. It is a bit disheartening going up one on the payscale then going across and then they remove the bottom point so in effect you are going nowhere!Nice to save.0

Hopefully the pay and grading review will sort you out:money:0

Yep, I'm in the same situation as emanlu, and witless' post is certainly incorrect, there are plenty of EO2s at the bottom of the payscale - that includes anyone that joined the bottom within 4 years, as above, the bottom rung has been removed several times. This kindof goes against the rewarding experience theory that has resulted in some AOs being paid more than some EO2s.0

The equal pay award messed things up nicely. I am managing someone who has been in less than me but earns more than me even though I am there manager. Only in the civil service
I got promoted just before the Equal Pay award. I would off been better not taking the promotion. Work that out!

But sure you do less work now ;-)0

Seems pretty well run to me lol anybody heard anything more about EOII positions coming up? Wondering how likely it'll be that more jobs than the initial 118 will be forthcoming.0

Are they recruiting again this year does anyone know?0
-
I doubt it chap. Only every few years it seems.0

The list from this current comp runs until 01/03/14 and they'll have an option to extend for up to 12 months if not everyone is appointed by then.
Pre appointment checks now up to #216. The number initially placed on the merit list (the 483 deemed competent enough to let loose) is based on projected needs up until March 2014, so it is likely that everyone will be offered a post at some point. Just don't hold out any hope of getting one any time soon unless you are one of the lower numbers.0
