Edf
Ie been with EDF for years, never had a problem, excellent customer service etc. etc.
Im on a 'fixed' till 2014.
Yesterday I got my annual statement - fine.
Projected use for the next 12 months is £1200. fine.
So why, oh why do they want to up my DD to £131 a month.
When I went to school, £1200 divided by 12 is £100.
They were a little embarrassed when I rang and immediately dropped it to £100 a month. (for gas and electricity)

Average UK dual fuel consumption is now c £1,100pa, so to use £1,200 hardly requires a mansion. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Did you get the £130 automatically paid to you?
No, they only pay back when the credit balance is over £150.
The estimated 12 month was £1330, they deducted the £130 and thats when the projected balance became £1200.
I dont scrimp, apart from turning lights off when not required.
I like being warm, Ive got the money and I'm b gg erd if Im going to spend whats left of my life being cold.
Its a sod when you have to spend the kids inheritance on heating but the kids wouldnt have it any different, :rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Earlier you said "Projected use for the next 12 months is £1200". Is that an inadvertant typo or does the Edf explanation vary? Anyway a £31/month error is hard to explain, except as "fraud".
Did you think about making a £20 extra payment to get £150 back?:D
As a matter of interest what was the monthly payment which resulted in a £130 surplus?0 -

I would love to know if you can get an explanation of the 130 figure McKneff. Edf continue to get away with doing this repeatedly - and (i'm guessing) most of their customers blindly accept it- because as soon as someone challenges it they back down. My own complaint has turned into a mind numbing head against the wall war of attrition. But where is the regulator who hsould be forcing them to play fair? Nowhere.0
