The police were obviously not convinced themselves that the car was uninsured if they let her go.
Presumably she has a pruducer? If so she should produce the certificate of insurance at the nominated police station.
(Note, just because she has the certificate doesn't necessarily mean she is insured, but if she's not behind in paying the premiums then she should be ok
)
As for no MOT, you are correct, the car does not need an MOT until 3 years after being first registered.
It'll should say on the V5C under section 3 (front page) 'DECLARED NEW AT FIRST REGISTRATION' if this was the case ... it usually is.
She should tell PC Pold that's why she is not producing an MOT certificate if that is the case.
Before she got the policy number from me she showed the PC her internet banking with the up to date payments to the insurance company.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Just had another look at the V5C. It says - Declared New at first registration. First registered 01.09.2009 - First registered in UK 01.09.2009The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

If you have it shown as insured on MID now I would not worry about the MOT. It's a minor offence plod won't be bothered to stop you even if the computer says no!0
