We have had an offer accepte don a house (finally) we were told that the previous buyers pulled out after they failed to sell their property.
They have had a full structural survey done on the property.
Would it be wrong/cheeky to offer them £100 for a copy of it, rather than paying for our own? Is the the "done thing"?

No it might be upsetting for them but I think that they would rather get something back and £100 is better than nothing.
The worst that they can say is no. Well ok you will have to pay. The best option for you is that they say yes and you save a lot of money. Either way you will not know until you ask.

They'd be breaking the copyright of the surveyor, and if there was a problem with the property and the surveyor failed to notice it, you wouldn't be able to claim against the surveyor.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The survey is now the property of the people who instructed the surveyor and paid for it. They could choose to sell it to you if they chose. However, what you need to bear in mind is that they didn't drop out of the purchase because they couldn't sell their current property but as a result of reading and understanding the contents of that survey. Mind you, that could mean it may be the best money you ever spent.0

I think you are hopeful.
We sold the survey on the house we pulled out from buying for half the survey cost! and that was a home buyers report not a strutural survey.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks all, we just figured they'd rather have £100 than a survey they can't use anymore......
I'd happily pay half for a full survey, just not keen on spending money that I don't necessarily need to0 -

it is the property of the surveyor, and is only accountable to the client mentioned on the report
You can ask to buy it off them, but if there turns out to be anything wrong with the property that was not mentioned in the report you will not be able to hold the surveyor accountable as the report was not intended for you0 -
If you know who they are why dont you just ask them what it came up with?
Then if you want to go ahead, have your own survey done before you part with hundreds of thousands of pounds of your own money on the basis of a second hand document by someone who isnt accountable to you.0 -

We are getting a survey done, but only a homeowners one. However if there's a full structural I can get my grubby little mits on, why not?
Point taken about the lack of accountability though0
