BT Infinity - Quidco & Usage/limit questions

40GB in a few days...How?What is the point of fibre with a 40GB cap? You can go through that in a few days.
Why pay BT for Infinity when you can get Plusnet Fibre (an identical product, installed by the same OR engineer) for less?
Currently £38 cashback via Quidco.
I use 40GB a month currently watch SD films regularly browse quite a bit. I don't think it's possible to go through 40GB in a few days and if so wouldn't the unlimited product from BT be better than the 120GB product from Plusnet.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Back to the question:
In the small print on the Quidco page, it states:
"BT Infinity is eligible for cashback but you must be a brand new broadband customer."
Thanks very much, not sure how I missed that!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I have just ordered the BT Infinity 2 broadband and a BT phone line and I have £85 tracked on quidco. I think that £50 is for the broadband and £35 is for the new phone line.
Having a usage cap on a fibre product does seem to defeat the object. I wonder why they thought that would be a good idea? :question:0 -
Usage cap? Pick the product without a usage cap if you don't want one. It'll also be faster.I have just ordered the BT Infinity 2 broadband and a BT phone line and I have £85 tracked on quidco. I think that £50 is for the broadband and £35 is for the new phone line.

Can I ask what speed they estimate you will get? They are now estimating mine at 57.6Mbps...but not now until the end of June.:footie:

Hiya, yes I did go for the Unlimited product, I was just wondering in general why someone would go for a capped fibre product.
Our speed estimate is 68 Mbps and we are having it installed in 2 weeks time so have to wait to see whether or not that is an acurate estimate or not.0 -

I agree though, a capped fibre product is just stupid.
It may stupid, but not many people can afford £40/mth.
Not many people will use 120GB in a month (subsidised with no cap between 0000-0800) for £23/mth.
What's the issue?0 -

I just pointed out it was due to cost!!!
The issue with having caps on fibre products is that you can't use your shiny new super-quick connection to it's fullest potential. You'll always be limited to whatever your cap is.
It stands to reason that the quicker the connection the more a user will download.0 -

So you can go through 120Gb in a month? Wow....
I trade daily, download the odd movie, internet on 24/7 and don't go beyond 50GB. I just don't see the point to pay BT 10 times what I am paying now for crap customer service and something that is available elsewhere, at a lower price.0
