a colleague has had a further email saying again..." very sorry for the inconvenience. we have informed you quickly etc etc and refunded money so the best we can do is to offer a further 10% discount off the current price." or thereabouts.
I'd just like it for £25 thanks very much!!!0 -
....I've still not had anything....?0

received an email back stating that they have every right to do this and as a gesture of goodwill are willing to offer a further 10 pound off. not a grab it while you can oppurtunity i dont think.0

I have also had the offer of a further £10.00 off. Have now asked to be referred someone higher up and refused the extra discount. This is now very interesting as the offer from virgin can be taken as an admission of blame. I have pointed this out to them. Also refered them to the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and referred them back to their own t&c's which make no reference to changes in price after issuing a receipt.
Love this kinda thing

Back Comping in 2024!0 -
hi, i am going to persist like yourself brownhandbag, hopefully we can get it for price stated.0

Seems like im in the same position as many of you, been offered an additional £10.00.
As i see it, e-eommerce regulation would be on their side, if they had cancelled the order whilst it was in the 'processing' stage. As it was confirmed - their wording, it forms a legally binding contract.
Their terms and conditions can not override uk law.
Im no expert, but im fighting this one!

hi, sent a nice email saying how upset I was as i purchased this for mothers day etc and the reponse has just come back, looks like they are sticking to their guns
Dear
Thank you for your e-mail. As previously advised, the price applied to the product at the time when your order was processed was incorrect, owing to a genuine error on our part. This error was rectified on the website within two hours, and we have apologised to you for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Such an eventuality is covered by the terms and conditions on the website, which does clearly advise that prices may change or be withdrawn. We have no particular desire to be legalistic about this unfortunate mistake, but for the record our legal position is that by promptly notifying you and returning your money we have vitiated any contract that may have existed between us, and you have suffered no loss.
On a personal note I would again like to apologise for the error. The correct price for the product was supposed to be £74 discounted from £99. I am authorized to offer a further £10 off, making a 33% discount to £64. If you would like to take advantage of this please advise by e-mail and I will ensure that it is dealt with promptly.
Yours sincerely

I'll be interested how you progress as I've also had the knock-back email and I'm gutted.
Update, I've winged an email saying how disappointed I am that a reputable company could be like this with their customersITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0 -
right i have sent my winging email now too0
-
my payments now gone through... I guess i'll await an email
dont know how to fight it though if they do cancel, i'm not too good with legal arguements!! I would have thought that once they've taken payment from your account its legally set??
Just a thought... to get the £10 discount they're offering they'd do the transaction manually; you'd loose the £8+ you'd earn through quidco!!0
