Low dish over hanging my property?

Hi,

Just bought a house in Wales that's been vacant for the last 2 years and noticed that next door's satellite dish is so low overhanging onto my path that I could move it with a sweeping brush! ;) Is there a minimum height these eye sore's need to be under planning law?

Many thanks in advance!

Nope..it should be high enough so you don't hid your head on it.

If you own the path it's trespass, regardless of how high it is.

Unless it's a conservation area, sat dishes can be put wherever you like.
In a conservation area, they are usually prohibited from the street frontage.

Get it removed, it shouldn't be there.
As stated above heights not an issue you cant have it over your property.

Perhaps the previous owner of the house gave permission for it to be installed there.

The politest thing would be to ask the neighbour about it, when was it installed? If it's overhanging your property then you are entitled to ask for it to be moved. If you can hit your head on it, you could sue if you did! If it was installed by Sky then they are at fault and should move it free of charge. But do work it out with your neighbour, it's not a good idea to fall out with neighbours.

But not on other people's property without their permission.

I suppose you can stop airplanes flying over the garden too? Or even birds?

What harm is it doing? Does it interfere with you in any way?
