littlewoods order tracking says 'hold refused' then 'return to sender'

Hiya
Flummoxed, as have just checked on Littlewoods site re an order ... for the first time, I'd checked out selecting to collect at a local point, by the 12th ... parcel arrived at stockton yesterday, but today there are 2 entries saying 'hold refused', then 'returned to sender'. No idea what that's about. Haven't had any emails from Littlewoods today, but it does say under these 2 entries to rearrange delivery/click through to carrier website ... but I can't think why the item would have been returned to sender in the first place ... I can go ahead and rearrange now, but what if that happens again?
EDIT ... clicked through to carrier (MY HDNL), but I have no UPI to enter and no card etc, as the item was going to a local shop delivery point. Have emailed Littlewoods.
Would much appreciate advice.
Best regards, Cat

I had similar problems when I had an order returned to depot last year, turned out the collect + site had refused it as they didn't have enough room to store, I ended up not being able to get the item redelivered as it was in the sale and had to pay full price elsewhere. Not used collect + since, at least if they try to deliver at home I get a card to rearrange and not have it sent back by someone else :mad:0

Thanks peanuckle ... felt like I was in some surreal x-files episode, as, I found the Stockton depot's number, and the answer's really surreal, but you saying your experience, which I really empathise about, means I'm not on my own in this weirdness, lol!
The answer from stockton depot was that note been made to say 'might need to speak to catalogue' ... the guy had known this happen a few times, and said it was usually because the customer had cancelled, which I hadn't. He's emailing the UPI to me.
That's a bit of a bad thing, that the Collect+ refused you ... how much space did the order need?! not much I bet. They should have arranged redelivery, at sale price. Muppets.
I'm off to beat up cards'r'us, the supposed 'collect' point, ha!
I'd thought collect+ would be a really nice easy option, but no. I'm really poorly with flu anyways and can't go out, but that's beside the point ... it's the principle!
Have emailed Littlewoods and will be great to hear the reasons and get the flippin order sorted out. Why don't they put in the explanations about any problems that can happen re collect+?
Rant over.
Thanks, Cat0 -
sounds to me like a refusal to hold the item
at a guess. either an issue with the labeling(eg it wont scan on their collect point machine,so wouldnt get paid) or no physical space to hold the item0 -

thanks custardy, these things would never cross my mind, so really good to know what it could possibly be. Makes me wonder how tiny stockton depot is, lol. Never think a warehouse would be too small for a big business to make some money from. Oh well. (I'd obviously mistaken that it was cards'r'us didn't have space ... oops, but funny).
Thanks, Cat0 -
The UPI plus the collect+ shop's postcode don't go through on the Yodel/HDNL site, of which I'm reading horrendous reviews everywhere ... how grrrrrreat! So I can't rearrange delivery and have to wait for Littlewoods to email, and rearrange I presume, since I can't. What a faff on.0

Yodel/HDNL are delivering parcels like they were acceptable 2 or 3 years ago.
Interlink or DPD text their customer before the day of delivery to ask if they want it redelivered on another day, and then on the day of delivery you get a text stating what 1 or 2 hour timeslot it will be delivered during.
I mean, It's not that hard to figure out and there is already several programs that arrange a delivery route based on criteria and estimate when each delivery will take place.
yodel gets a solid C (Could Do Better).
Sorry, diverted the thread a bit.0 -

interlink and DPD charge more than Yodel/HDNL
so do you want cheap delivery,or delivery with features?0 -
Just reading a thread elsewhere that's a total mixture of lots complaints, some abusive yodel drivers, some nice yodel drivers, some good experiences ... one driver said the yodel warehouse is really grotty, birds fly about and poo everywhere, miserable, no training, have to queue for ages to get van; two or three others were really nasty, had pi**ed on someone's parcel who had told them off; one really great saying to not tar all with same brush, that he does card things, makes sure of that.
Speaking with Stockton depot, the man there was really nice, emailed me the UPI.
PS custardy, as I'm crying into my sandwich (and chocolate, lol) about my order, I fully understand you saying about what aspect to plumb for, but I have to say I'd plumb for paying a bit more for reliable delivery, across the board.
PS Coolhotcold ... your avatar says it all, lol0 -
