China and Brazil are slowing. Only growth in US is Mitt Romney's speeches on the economy.

Are we heading for a dip back to the 4000 level?

The price of stocks has to include the value of the currency. Thats the information missing, dollar has risen back to two year highs. This means more is contained in the currency then the share price alone

another chart I like...percentage of stocks above 200 day average..
We're bang on the lower indicator...as you can see theres been recovery a number of times from here...
If theres no upturn then it looks like another fall of 10 % or more..

I'd be inclined to agree if it's on the way up, you'd probably want some confirmation of this before investing, may be get in on a stop order when it's gone up say 2% The only slight concern I have is the red trend line trending downwards from over 90 to 75 on the bottom chart which suggests it's on the way down.

I would not be two concerned about the lowest points as suspect this was the result of 9/11 which one hopes will never happen again.

Wanted: one hold grail of investing. Good price paid.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

I am willing to bet the value of the dollar will hit a new low after the up coming elections - no matter who wins!! It always looks better to make things look better than they are if you want a second term :)

Thats one hell of a bullish statement for the economy!

A lower dollar is only bullish because of how it lowers the cost of wages to companies that especially export.

They play so many tricks its hard to know what will do them any good. Currency is only a means to doing trade, I think we all get carried away thinking it matters.
Probably the most important thing is stability and Im sure it'll all get thrown off kilter as its out balance

A new president and a hang over from all the promises made to get there. Theres not much chance they will have actually moved closer to a solution
