My task for the day - splitting wood - failed dismally - wood too green and need heavier sledge hammer

My task for the day: looking to windward, resting my hand on the tiller and moving it this much ---> <----.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Wonder if I will feel compelled to wait up and see the reaction of the Nikkei.

I certainly hope so as I'm looking to increase my exposure to both Europe and Japan. My main Europe trade will go through today and Japan some time later this week.

Next week will also see fresh funds hitting my pension, so I'll be hoping that there are still bargains around.

Wouldn't be my choices, but I've said that already.

gadget are you hoping that the far right in France re-elect Sarkozy or do you think a Hollande win will not upset the markets too much?

Must admit with the pound at 1.22 there could be good reason to get some Euros but Europe is all too scary for me at the moment :(
I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance
