Foxes chewing through brake pipes...

Did you actually see the fox doing this? Or was it still attached when you took it for the MOT?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Plus the guy at the local garage said it was a regular thing they keep finding. Will try the braided pipes if it happens again.
Hmm....I bet he gets a lot of work from "chewed" pipes.

Oh god no thanks! The cure is worse than the symptoms!0

It's a common issue, especially in semi-urban areas with high fox populations I've found, I'd say yes to the fact it has been done by fox.
Foxes seem especially attracted to brake fluid (I've been told they'll drink it.... poor fox!) and I've heard of it happening on many occasions.
Still not a good enough reason to get pleasure out of tearing an animal apart with dogs though, I find that quite disturbing....

I'd second the recommendation for braided brake hoses. Goodridge and HEL both make good ones, and both brands are sold by Brakes4U.
I've had a set of HEL ones on my car since 2009 and couldn't be happier with them. I went for HEL because they also do a conversion hose that let me fit brakes from a Skyline onto my car, but I suspect this wont be an issue for you so go with whoever is cheapest.0 -
you could not use an airrifle, period end of reccomending this.
the law is firmly not on yourside if you do use a rifle in the street.
and odds on youll have armed response pinning you down to the ground after pointing their fire arms at you.
you must be 200yards away from ANY property bridal path right of way any road.
youll risk a fine or court, and could be banned from owning any rifle in the future. and cheap rifles are not LBS rated (chinease makes) they could infact be over 12lbs of pressure and land you in prison for five years if you dont have a firearms cirt, and the confescated rifle will be destroyed being a waste of money.
we have fox's and when they get too much the land owner seeks a pest control buisiness to sort them out.
stupid suggestion to use a airrifle.0
