Just wanted to get some opinions. We're having a cupcake tower with a cutting cake on the top tier.
The cake (to match the cupcakes) will look something like this (one tier only) and I almost think it's too pretty to stick a pair of figurines on there:

So I just wondered what everyone else was doing! Are you having cake toppers, and if so what are you having?

It looks lovely!
I agree about the figurines, but why not some wired pink roses (stick the wires deep in the cake to secure them but they can't be seen), that would look really pretty.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

We are having mini cakes and a top tier to cut. We are having two lots of toppers haha. On one of our mini cakes were are having a lego Han and Leia (they are too small to be a topper on the cutting tier) and then on the top tier we are having a penguin bride and groom to match those on our invitations (we are getting married in a zoo). We are having those because they suit us and our day0

We had lego toppers too, super cute. But out cake was plane ice, not fancy like OPs0

I think a proper topper would distract from the loveliness of the cutting cake(imo). You could maybe get away with some flowers matching your colour scheme but you wouldnt want many, or for it to look too fussy.
We are having a cupcake tower and I think I have decided against a topper on our top cutting cake, I am going for the side to be decorated with flowers climbing up the side and think anything else would distract from the detail.0 -
Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear some of you aren't having toppers - I was worried people would think we're strange if we don't have them.
That said, I'm loving some of your topper ideas. The penguins sound adorable, Em88!0 -
Don't really know how to answer the question as we r having a cake like this:

I'm thinking of getting one of these, but our top tier is going to be plain. I think I'd go without if I was having your cake.:)
