Just a question about the returns. I did a fab shop last night....thanks everyone for the info and hints.....but I have a T shirt that doesn't suit and 2 pairs of boys pjs that are too small. I was thinking about exchanging them without the receipt since I have used so many vouchers. If I take in the receipt I am worried that 1) the lad that served me may get into trouble 2) that they may not let me return them since I paid so little for my shopping.

Has anyone been questioned about their use of vouchers when exchanging / returning clothes ? If so what do you say?
    TIA
    D

I've personally never been questioned, but it is nerve racking, so much so that I am going to exchange the trousers that don't fit. I'd just rather do that! Last time, the SA kept my receipt and I was really worried as she'd also called up someone explaining she was doing a refund!

I have a pair to take back, and I'm just going to get a bag or something for mothers day with them. Better to be safe then sorry.

On the other hand, I know others have just said it was regular clubcard vouchers used, and since the mailing was out recently, it sounds like a feasible excuse.

Yesterday when they checked my receipt on one clothing shop, and I asked for one clothing voucher to be accepted at CS, she said you have used vouchers already, I said they were tesco clubcard vouchers and she gave me that oh yeah, whatever look. So I always exchange without a receipt and dont always return them to the same store.

Can I share some good news - hope you don't mind, the roof is being put on the extension this week and as I have chatted to you all about it, especially charlene, littlebill, poundsinbucks and thriftyboots and Coupon mad I have attached a picce.

This shows my 4 little welshies waving from what will be my new bedroom window ! (the extension is bigger than the house and we have planned this for over 4 years hence my excitement that it is finally being done)

Thanks goodness I will have more storage space to put all my clothing bargains in

Welshy - your extension looks FAB!! I chickened out of going on another TESCO clothes run today, had all the right vouchers but don't really NEED any more clothes at the mo and have trouble storing all the summer stuff I have "purchased" recently. Will do my returns over the next few days without receipts, and hopefully not lose out before all the prices drop in the forthcoming sale.

Once I've had a bit of a clearout of the kids (and mine and OHs) wardrobes and I have a bit of room I will venture back to Tesco for more free clothes :D . Or perhaps I'll use the room for more free toiletries. Decisions decisions...:rotfl: .

Thanks poundsinbucks, it's been hard going started in November but the end result will be worthwhile, I have from MFI:

a gas range cooker, a white shaker style single bed, a white bathroom suite, a victorian toilet, a victorian pedestal and basin, 2 powershowers, a shower enclosure and tray and a new cloakroom toilet -all FREE using tesco deal vouchers and being delivered at the end of this month.

I already have: 4 pine wardrobes, 4 beside cabinets, a set of pine bunk beds, 2 single mattresses, a victorian metal bedstead and king size mattress, all in storage so alot of boxes here already. I have also secured a free dishwasher for the new kitchen courtesy of MFI and have £1,000 in converted vouchers to spend in the next 3 weeks towards the new kitchen.

Which just goes to show the extension has been furnished on a very tight budget successfully.

I love my freebies - as for clothing I am waiting until the red dress as featured in the current tesco magazine is available in store and may treat myself then

Wow, that is truly impressive Welshy! 'Extension courtesy of Tesco' would make a nice headline in your local paper, or perhaps you could be featured in one of those documentaries about Tesco taking the P with their prices and customers getting their own back :D .

I took my clothing back and they refunded it no problem, one paid with cash one paid with card, I did buy a few other things on each shop too, so it wasn't just solely clothing, so that may have helped! If I only had bought clothing and paid no cash then I may be reluctant, but they were fine, infact the 2nd woman didnt even check my recipt!

by the way the clothing sale is tommorow I think from what I have read here, and from the way the stores clothing departments were merchandised today!

Wleshy your extension looks fab! About twice the size of my house I think :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well I am still getting the h&b toiletries and have a huge amount, once I stop using the vouchers I will be donating alot of them to charity so you never know you may well see me featured in some local rag
