  • I have some staff paid weekly (but I'm moving them over to fortnightly from 6th April), some monthly, and some 4-weekly.

We end the working week on Friday, and as long as the timesheets are in by Friday afternoon, they get paid on Monday. If they're late, then officially they get they pay the following Monday. (The reason for this is so I can sit down and do the (weekly) payroll just once a week, not 5 times, but in reality if someone delays (and not too often) then I'll have to manually run the payroll again/or estimate wages, and correct it the week later because I feel bad about them delaying a week's pay. At staff meeting, tried to persuade them to go over to monthly4-weekly, but they resisted, so settled on fortnightly. Let's see how it goes. Theoretically, it should half the time processing the payroll, but we'll see...

As the the monthly lot - we end the month on the 5th, so as long as I get expense claims, etc on time, I generally pay by the 8th.

I get paid on the last Thursday of each month from one job, and the last day of the month from my other one.

Whenever you get paid, there's always too much month left at the end of the money. I get paid on the 17th of every month. Used to get paid weekly. How much interest are companies making on paying monthly? More than we're making that's for sure. I used to get paid for a 20 min dinner break, but that stopped, now on half an hour unpaid. Used to get double time after 19 hours, now time and a half however many hours we do. All this money we miss out on has gone back to the company. When I started where I am, it used to be 1 man 1 machine, now 1 man 2.5 machines, for no more pay! As usual companies getting richer and pleading poverty, so they can pay us as little as possible. My company has gone from a £10.000.000 to a £65.000.000 turn over in 7 years, and most of the workers haven't had a personal pay rise for over 5 years...Not even a Christmas bonus, Bah humbug!

I get paid weekly usually on a Wednesday, but if it is a bank holiday then I get paid on the Thursday.

I am able to pay my rent weekly so don't have to save for a big rent payment each month. Like wise council tax can be paid monthly. I pay these using a credit card from a store I like the clothes in which earns me enough points to treat myself to items in store. After paying for these I immediately transfer the money for the rent and council tax from my current account to the card so that the cost is covered.

I have pre paid meters for elec and gas (yes I know they can be more expensive but the Landlord prefers them due to this being social housing also I like the fact I have already paid for what I use) so again don't have a big monthly bill.

For those payments which are monthly the collection dates vary so that they are not all due at the same time.

For large expenses these are saved for then purchased via credit card and the payments are made to the card in sufficient time to ensure no interest is paid.

For semi-annual expenses such as car tax servicing and mot. (I get my car mot'd in March and buy a years car tax in Sept) I put aside just under £5 a week.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
  • I get paid on the 28th of every month, the only difference is Christmas where we get paid a week early so if there are any problems they can be sorted out before people go on leave.

I'd quite like my monthly salary to be paid on a weekly basis

Last working day of the month. Could never cope with weekly/fortnightly pays. Monthly works far better for me.
